New collaboration with Loft & Amnibus was announced for Digimon Adventure!
Details about exact merch will follow soon, but the tweet states that the concept was decided by keeping the idea of 25th Anniversary in focus but the art itself is flower + wedding outfit themed. The collab will start in June which is considered a good month for brides in Japan and so we see many wedding themed anime illustrations get released during this time every year.
Now it is time for another certified Ayushi breakdown 🫡
Taichi and Agumon are seen holding Edelweiss, with a pattern of the flower drawn beautifully on Taichi's shirt as well. Edelweiss in Japanese Language of Flowers (Hanakotoba) is meant to symbolise 'cherished memories/大切な思い出' and 'courage/勇気', while in Western Language of Flowers it's meant to symbolise 'noble courage' and 'daring' - both of which are apt for our best leader 🧡
Yamato and Gabumon are seen holding Alstroemeria (Lily of the Incas, Peruvian Lily), and while the flower motif is not drawn onto his clothes, Yamato's coat's breast pocket is decorated with the flower as well. In Hanakotoba, Alstroemeria is meant to symbolise 'persistence/持続' or 'longing for the future/未来への憧れ', while in Western Language of Flowers it's meant to symbolise 'friendship' and 'devotion'. All meanings are apt for him imo, but especially persistence and longing for the future are very representative of his arc from the first series till Kizuna.
Sora and Piyomon are seen with Pink Carnations, with the neckline of Sora's jumpsuit lined with a bunch of the flowers. I personally love the visual of Sora in this pink jumpsuit, it plays into her slightly tomboyish yet extremely gentle personality so well! In Hanakotoba carnations symbolise 'innocent and deep love/無垢で深い愛' and pink carnations specifically symbolise 'love of a woman/女性の' 'passionate love/熱愛' and "beautiful gesture/美しいしぐさ'. In Western Language of Flowers carnations symbolise 'fascination' and love'. All meanings are pretty accurate for Sora, but red carnations are used to symbolise Mother's love in Japan so it would've been nice if they threw in a mix of red and pink to hint at her relationship with her mother!
Koushiro and Tentomon are seen holding Violet Sage, which at first glance I thought was Lavender. The flower pattern is also visible on his waistcoat and bowtie, which ties together his outfit very nicely! In Hanakotoba, Sage seems to have many symbolisations, 'respect/尊敬', 'wisdom/知恵', 'good home/良い家庭', and 'family love/家族愛'. But Blue (Violet) Sage specifically signify respect and wisdom. In Western Language of Flowers, Sage symbolises 'esteem', 'wisdom' and 'domestic virtue'. Again, a perfect choice for Koushiro, I personally would prefer to believe that they picked this not because of his crest but because of 'good home' and 'family love' since that part of Koushiro's arc in the first series was probably the most impressionable aspect of his character.
Mimi and Palmon are seen holding baby's breath, with Mimi's dress covered in a pattern of it. Even keeping my bias towards Mimi aside, this is possibly one of the prettiest outfit of hers till date, it genuinely looks like she's about to walk down the aisle as a flower girl for a very happy couple! In Hanakotoba, Baby's Breath or Kasumisou, symbolises 'pure heart/清らかな心', 'innocence/無邪気', 'kindness/親切', and 'happiness/幸福'. In Western Language of Flowers it symbolises 'everlasting love', 'purity of heart', and 'innocence'. All meanings apply to Mimi to the T, but they're also very apt for the whole wedding theme of the merch which makes this particular outfit + flower choice my favourite from the lot.
Jou and Gomamon are seen holding Violets or Sumire. I honestly struggled to figure out the flower for a while, at first glance I thought it was Periwinkle but since that was not mentioned in the Hanakotoba reference anywhere, I searched other people's interpretations and settled with Violets. His tie also has a cute pattern of the flower, and it makes me wonder if Koushiro and Jou went shopping for their outfits together! In Hanakotoba, Sumire symbolise 'modesty/謙虚', 'sincerity/誠実', and 'small happiness/小さな幸せ'. Depending on the colour, the symbolism can change in Hanakotoba, and purple Violets specifically represent 'fidelity' along with 'love'. In Western Language of Flowers it symbolises 'modesty' and 'faithfulness'. This is as Jou as a flower can get lol.
Takeru and Patamon are seen with White Gerberas. Like Yamato, Takeru's outfit doesn't have a pattern of the flower, but the Gerberas themselves are pinned to his suspenders. In Hanakotoba, Gerbera symbolises 'hope/希望' and 'always moving forward/常に前進'. White Gerbera specifically are used to symbolise 'hope' and 'honesty/律儀'. In Western Language of Flowers it is meant to symbolise 'cheerfulness' and 'beauty'. All meanings are accurate for Takeru, no comment needed!
Hikari and Tailmon are seen with Sunflowers. I personally feel that Hikari's outfit is a little too much compared to the rest, just the sunflower belt would've been enough but they added that extra line at the hem and it's kind of an overdose. In Hanakotoba, Sunflowers symbolise 'I gaze only at you/私はあなただけを見つめる', 'adoration/愛慕', and 'worship/崇拝'. In Western Language of Flowers, it symbolises 'adoration' and 'false riches'. I understand that they wanted to go with a bright or perky flower for Hikari but something like a Pink Aster which symbolises patience or Cosmos which symbolises harmony, peace etc. might suit Hikari better given the overall theme of the illustration. The only miss in the otherwise perfectly depicted theme and art!

“My best friend is finally getting therapy and part of his healing process is becoming my employee”
@taikouvember Day 5 - Hope: Something you would like to see happening for them
Short Fic Summary: Koushirou struggles to get new employees for his start-up company and hiring processes go rather slowly, even with the support of a very engaged team. He absolutely isn't prepared to hear that their most recent New Hire for the marketing department is someone very familiar to him... (Because I always wanted to write a fic about their set-up as coworkers at Koushirou's company while using a ridiculously long and cheesy light novel title - and because we all know that this would be the best type of therapy for Taichi!)
Word Count: 3287
“Excuse me, Izumi-shachou?”
The door to Koushirou’s main office opened and the HR manager came in.
“Kawashima-san”, Koushirou greeted her, accompanied by Tentomon bowing down next to him. She immediately smiled at the ladybug, who had become some kind of mascot to the little start-up company.
“Hello, Tento-san. I just wanted to hand in the sheet of New Hires we acquired today.”
“Ah, thank you very much”, Tentomon took the folder with the CVs instead of his partner, who let out a sigh of relief. It had taken several weeks to get the hiring process going, the main team in office consisted mainly of acquaintances he had made thanks to the network he had been building together with his American friend since he was 16. Since his tech company wasn’t exactly known too well yet, competition in regards to personnel proved to be rather difficult – especially in non-technical fields.
“We only had three applicants this time, but Takano-san actually found someone he intends to add to the marketing team core, so that may be a good sign!”, Kawashima explained and seemed rather cheerful about the announcement. Just like Koushirou, Kawashima Shiho was still in her early twenties, but pretty dedicated to get all administration duties done – which Koushirou was more than thankful for. She had joined the company around six months after he had met at a technology fair and Koushirou, who had mainly focused on getting technical acquaintances on board, had been pretty lucky to have stumbled across her. Things had gotten better back then – especially after the name Izumi Koushirou had become more well-known after appearing in the media after the Eosmon incident a few months ago. Which was also when he had been contacted by Takano Hideki – a marketing specialist in his mid-thirties, who had been more than fascinated by the intent of the company.
Providing gadgets for the growing network of humans partnering with “Digital Monsters” wasn’t exactly a market he had experienced before. And so, Koushirou had slowly but steadily gathered a little team of tech – and Digimon – enthusiasts. It wasn’t a lot, especially since he couldn’t even yet afford hiring too many people at once, but he had high hopes that things would improve.
“Three is more than we anticipated, so this is indeed a good sign”, Koushirou replied, “Thank you for attending the hiring meetings in my place, Kawashima-san.”
She shook her head in response.
“That is my job after all and you’ve been particularly busy with reporting the company project results to the finance team. Also, as company president, you don’t even have to be at all the hiring meetings for the other departments”, she added with a smile, which he returned wearily. They really would need the marketing team to make sure the company would gain more publicity – and thus, new potential clients and supporters if he wanted to maintain all of this. His American friend still provided financial support – for he didn’t plan on depending on that forever.
“And that’s also what this list is for! I met all three of the New Hires myself and I would assume they’ll be suitable additions to the company.”
“That is good to hear. I would still really like to meet them myself”, Koushirou admitted – he wasn’t exactly an office-shut-in and regularly tried to stay in touch with the different departments as good as he could. He also had veto rights in regards to hiring and felt like he had to at least look over the company structure to some degree. But by trying to micromanage everything, it did remind him a little of the times he had to look over Iori, Miyako, Ken and Daisuke during their school days…
“… You really should get to meet them, Koushirou-han.”
Both humans turned to Tentomon, as the Digimon urgently stared at one of the sheets after he had browsed curiously through the folder – at least Koushirou was, at this point, perfectly able to read his partner to be able to tell that something wasn’t right.
“Why, what do you mean, Tentomon?”
“Well… You may want to have a personal talk with one of them at least.”
Hearing that, he raised an eyebrow and took the folder out of Tentomon’s claws – only to immediately freeze once he saw the application picture…
Kawashima blinked in surprise and confusion. “Is something wrong?” Having her own curiosity piqued, she glanced at the sheet as well. “Oh, he was a very interesting applicant, we weren’t completely sure whether he would fit the role, but Takano-san seemed very intrigued by his attitude and presentation, so I trust that we made the right choice by hiring him.”
“… Do you know if he is still in house?”
“Oh, he probably is still talking to Takano-san in his office, I assume. Like I said, he was highly impressed by him.”
“E-excuse me, then…” With his lips pressed together, Koushirou bowed and, to Kawashima’s even greater surprise, almost stormed out of the office. Leaving his HR manager and his Digimon partner behind, with the former still being completely at a loss.
“I’ve… Never seen him that frantic before, does he know the applicant?”
“Oh, ya see…”, Tentomon chuckled, bashfully rubbing the back at his head after pointing at the man with the confident smile on the application picture, “He may actually know Yagami Taichi-han a little too well…”
~
“Shachou?!”
Takano didn’t react any less astonished as Kawashima had just a few minutes ago when Koushirou almost slammed the door to his office open – which wasn’t like anything their usually composed and cool company president had ever done before. Besides the main IT and tech work space and Koushirou’s main office, the floor mainly consisted of the HR, finance and PR/marketing offices. Paths were short and so it didn’t even take him two minutes to get here.
Their New Hire didn’t seem exactly surprised – instead, he looked like he had been haunted by a ghost once his eyes met Koushirou’s. A certain sense of “Damn, I didn’t think I’d meet you just yet” was in the air.
“Is something the matter, Izumi-shachou? You look rather distressed?”, Takano asked and Taichi became even more pale.
“I… Just talked to Kawashima-san and came here to greet our newest company member personally”, he smiled a forced smile – and Takano found himself laughing.
“See, I knew you would leave an impression early, Yagami-san.”
“Y-yeah… That’s one way to put it”, Taichi smiled in return, which led Koushirou to cough.
“Takano-san, would you mind if I talked to Yagami-san alone for a few minutes?” The way he pronounced his name – the family name of a person whose first name he had probably said a million times before – felt odd, foreign and just plain wrong, but his brain was running on autopilot right now anyway. What was happening here, why was it happening, was this a prank, was he dreaming?
“Absolutely not, I am sure you’ll be just as pleased with him as I was, just please call me back when you are done”, Takano said. Despite being more than ten years older than himself, he was oozing quite a relaxed and confident aura, still seemed very “in touch” with his younger colleagues… But Koushirou couldn’t tell how much he actually knew.
“Thank you very much…”
With that, Takano left his little office space and the two long-term friends behind, who remained quiet, still maintaining – somewhat uncomfortable – eye contact… Until the door was closed and the air seemed clear.
“Taichi-san, why on earth did you not tell me that you applied to my company?! When did you intend to tell me this, just – how did you even come up with this, what was going through your head?!”, it eventually bursted out of Koushirou in waves, so he couldn’t even keep his voice low anymore – didn’t even care anymore if the entire office heard him like that – and Taichi just apologetically raised his arms.
“I wanted it to be a surprise! I obviously knew you would learn about it sooner than later, but, knowing how freaking busy you were recently, I kinda thought it’d take at least until tomorrow!”, Taichi responded, but Koushirou still stared at him as if he had lost his mind. It was true that they had been barely in touch for a few weeks due to his finance report – but also because of something else.
“And what a surprise it was! Also, that doesn’t explain why you applied here, I mean… What happened to your job in the pachinko parlor?”
“I quit there. You said it yourself once, I was even more miserable every time I went there, and according to my therapist, it was just adding up to any mental issues, so… Yeah, I finally had the guts to quit.”
Taichi had finally started seeing a therapist. After losing Agumon, he had shut himself away for several days – up until Hikari, Koushirou and the others eventually couldn’t bear leaving him to his own devices to rot away in his flat anymore. It had taken quite a few attempts, speeches, crying and shouting to get through to him, reminding him that he didn’t have to deal with all of this by himself for him to finally break down. Years of self-isolation, years of pent up trauma, the feeling of loss, of his partner, of his sense of self… It had all come together, culminating in several painful realizations.
There hadn’t been an immediate solution. Instead, there had been a few fights and fallouts even, several weeks of searching and making use of Koushirou’s connections to find a therapist that was capable of taking over this case. Obviously, not a lot of “normal” humans were even in the position to relate to anything Yagami Taichi had gone through in his young life of only 23 years, but… It was worth a shot. And Koushirou had been glad that Taichi had accepted the opportunity despite having rebelled against the idea for a long time. Whichever path it may lead him towards, it could only have gotten better in his opinion.
However, he had not expected to suddenly see his best friend standing here in his office, dressed in suit and tie, not just as a visitor, but as an actual… Employee. His employee. And… As what even?
“I still don’t understand… What made you apply to become part of our marketing team? How does that relate to your studies?”
Now it was on Taichi to cough and, apparently, collecting himself.
“See… You know, I picked up writing my thesis again, right?”, Taichi explained calmly – which was an unusual sight, but it also calmed Koushirou down a little as well.
“You’re writing about the relationship between the real and the Digital World and how its relations may result in a symbiosis between the two…”
“Yeah. And once I’m done, I will have to present my thesis orally as well and, you know, I was talking to my therapist about that… He said I’m currently lacking experience to pull something like that off. Speaking in front of a crowd of people, being convincing…”
Hearing that, Koushirou felt a little sting in his chest. The Yagami Taichi he had known for the majority of his life used to be capable of pulling people along just by being himself, by letting his charisma show, his natural sense of leadership. To hear someone else assessing that he was currently not in a state of being his naturally contagious self anymore was… Daunting to say the least.
“And… Part of me knows that I want to make that symbiosis happen. Kinda, at least. So… I need to be able to sell that vision somehow. I have no idea how to do that yet, but… I want to learn how to do it.”
Seeing Taichi so vulnerable, so open to him… Hadn’t happened in a long time. Yes, he had seen him cry several times before, but he hadn’t been able to… Explain himself so surely and unsurely at the same time.
“Then I heard Hikari and Takeru talk about how you’ve been struggling to get people to work for your company and…”, Taichi hesitated, “Yeah, I saw the open positions listed on your screen the other day too.”
Koushirou frowned. Again, they hadn’t talked a lot in the past weeks, hadn’t even seen each other in person for a while, so… He really must have worked hard on his application there. It made the sting increase even more. Made him feel like the worst friend in the world.
“I had no idea…”
“Like I said, it was… Kinda meant to be a surprise, you know?” The grin on his face felt genuine, but Koushirou couldn’t shake the thought that he must have forced himself to keep quiet about it too.
“But… You could have asked me! I could have introduced you to Takano-san even sooner and-“
“No!” This time, Taichi actually seemed steadfast about his decision and, most importantly, more confident again to put his foot down. “That’s the point, I didn’t want to be hired based on, well, knowing the CEO. I don’t want handouts, Koushirou, that’s why I didn’t want to tell you. This was a crazy idea in the first place and I brought it up to my therapist, even if it felt stupid and out of place after everything, but… I wanna figure out what I really want to do now. And what I’m capable of, on my own.”
Admittedly, Koushirou had never been to therapy himself, so he wasn’t exactly aware of how it worked, but if Taichi was already able to put his vision into words like that after just a few months… It really must have left an impact, Koushirou thought to himself while listening patiently.
Of course, when the subject of therapy had been brought up by Hikari for the first time, Koushirou had done his research – like he always did whenever he was not familiar with something. Thus, he remembered that there was something along the lines of exposure therapy. So whatever Taichi and his therapist must have brewed up together, it did feel like Taichi intended to face his demons, all of his insecurities heads on, taking on a challenge like this.
A part of him had almost assumed that Taichi would end up distancing himself from him even further, from everything in order to avoid hurting even more. Who could have blamed him for wanting to get away from everything that could potentially remind him of the part of himself that he had lost?
But now, Taichi really seemed to have gathered enough courage to do the opposite instead.
“So… Takano-san doesn’t know that you know me?”, Koushirou asked softly, causing Taichi to scratch his chin.
“Eh, I would say he still somewhat looked through me”, he confessed, again with a grin – one that felt a lot more like him though. “I knew way too much about this place and I’m pretty sure he saw me around before, but… I tried not to bring it up. But he’s actually a great guy, so talking to him made it all feel less stupid after all.”
Despite of how furious Koushirou had been before about not having known about any of this, about being left out of the picture… It also felt like, by choosing this path in particular, here of all places, Taichi was intending to step closer towards him specifically as well. Even if he hadn’t let him in on how it looked inside of him for a long time, even if he had had shut him out just like everyone else… Now that the tables had turned, in just the blink of an eye, Koushirou couldn’t suppress a smile, even if he had wanted to.
“You mean getting into ‘marketing’, mh?”
“Yeah, wild, I know.”
Koushirou’s smile widened.
“I presume you’ll be responsible for texting and being a PR representative of the company – and less for designing then?”
This time, Taichi pulled a grimace – and Koushirou knew he had hit a nerve there. His political sciences studies would come in handy, that he was certain about – however, talking convincingly to politicians still required a significantly different skillset from selling their ideas to the general public, including clueless stakeholders and, especially, the media.
“I know that tone, Kou, and I don’t like it! Mind you, I was practicing technical stuff with Hikari, I know photoshop and such! I’m not a kid anymore and way past the point of bluescreening your computer! Trust me!”
“No, no, I believe you!”, Koushirou laughed out loud – furthermore, he could not help but notice just how much he had missed Taichi’s presence. Bickering like that, being like this together, felt like putting over a warm, comfortable blanket he had hidden away in a closet for a long, long time…
And in the end, it was true – not only did he believe Taichi, he had always believed in him as well. And deep down, Koushirou knew better than anyone else how capable Taichi could be when he was at a hundred percent.
“Good! But yeah, Takano-san will do the visual designing stuff, I’m here to provide the input.”
“Interesting.” So that was most likely what Kawashima had been referring to when she had talked about Taichi’s ‘performance and presentation’ coming off as intriguing, Koushirou mused internally. Somebody must have done their homework up front and Koushirou was convinced that Takano had dug up quite a bit. Probably must have been aware of their ‘relationship status’ as well. “So by input you mean… Processing your experiences and present them in a neat package?”
“Pretty much”, Taichi smiled a crooked smile. He really had come a long way, considering how casually he was already conveying this. Maybe this would really prove to be a key element in getting Taichi’s spirit, and eventually Agumon back? Koushirou had seen him make miracles happen if he set his mind to it, so maybe his therapist had been onto something there. “So, you’re not mad at me anymore?”
Taken off guard by that reply, Koushirou blinked at him.
“I… Wasn’t exactly mad in the first place”, he said truthfully, all glimpses of potential anger had completely vanished after all and Taichi’s gentle tone was something he had never really been able to stand a chance against anyway. Instead, there was a weird sense of… Wary giddiness now. “Just… I did not see any of this coming.”
“Well, but then I was already successful in a way.”
“You really were.”
“Heh… So be sure to see me around a lot more in the future, Izumi-shachou, Takano-san was talking very highly of you.”
Avoiding to tell him that they wouldn’t even be in the same team and thus, probably not getting in touch much, Koushirou couldn’t tell if he was ready for them to be actual coworkers yet. He couldn’t tell if there would be rumours and gossiping, whether there were other complications he hadn’t thought of yet. All he could do was trust in Takano’s judgement, Taichi’s persistence and his own ability to separate their newly founded professional bond from their private bond. Things would absolutely be different from now on, but – it was genuinely making him a bit more hopeful for the future. For the sake of his company – and for Taichi’s sake as well. Most importantly, setting all rationality aside and letting his emotions do the talking, he wanted to believe that this arrangement would eventually improve their friendship again rather than harming it.
“We’ll see about that, Yagami-san.”
Little did he know that it would end up being an entirely different experience from anything he could ever have imagined…

TaiKouvember 2024, Day 6: Light
(Sequel to Day 5: Hope, although mostly unneeded to enjoy this.)
“So, that’s why you’re a wreck today?” Hikari giggles, gently rubbing Gatomon’s belly as the feline Digimon purrs warmly.
“Yes! It was horrible, Hikari; you need to put Takeru on a leash or something!” Taichi exclaims, wiping his face down in an attempt to take the tension off.
“Onii-chan, I can barely contain a few children; an adult is well out of my league. Not to mention I tried that already and he liked it.” She gives Taichi a playful smirk, taking great joy in the pained reaction from her older brother.
“I don’t understand what’s so wrong anyway. You humans overcomplicate everything.” Gatomon shakes her head, clueless and frankly uncaring of the gravity of Takeru’s intrusions.
“I concur, humans truly are mysterious creatures.” Tentomon says, leaning into Taichi’s side in an attempt to comfort him. Grateful for the touch, Taichi begins to scratch under the big bug’s chin.
“On another note, Onii-chan, Gatomon would like to spend some time with you. The little softie.” The young woman beams at her Digimon, who only raises her chin and looks away in response.
“Yes, well, I hear Tentomon particularly enjoys your salmon, so I feel inclined to try some myself.” Gatomon tries to deflect, huffing as Hikari pets her.
“The salmon was good last night!” Tentomon asserts, raising his claw up to accentuate his point.
“Oh! Uh, sure? We’ll pick some up on the way home,” Taichi tilts his head, somewhat confused but not disliking another Digimon around, asking, “How long will you be staying?”
“Just for a few days.” Gatomon replies simply, leaning into the affection as she, partly, gives up the tough cat act.
“I have a school trip, which is just overnight, but a few friends and I will be touring for another night. So take good care of her while I’m gone, or I won’t forgive you!” Hikari takes on a more serious expression, pouting at her brother.
“Of course! I’ll pamper her even more than you do!” Taichi laughs as a waitress comes by. They give her their orders and eat peacefully, casually talking in between bites. School, friends, gossip, previous adventures, a little bit of everything, until their lunch breaks end.
“What a shame, Onii-chan; I have to go pack. Again, take care of Gatomon! And Gatomon? Feel free to tease Onii-chan as much as you want!” She laughs, kissing the two Digimon’s heads and her brother’s cheek before squeezing him as tight as she can in a hug, which he returns. The three of them then waved her off as she parted.
“Alright , Gatomon, Tentomon, let’s run some errands before we head home.” Taichi recommends paying for the meal before sliding out of the seat.
“I have no objections.
“Let’s pick up a treat for Koushirou-han!”
“Hmm, good idea. They’ve been rather stressed, right?” Taichi grins and pats the heads of his companions, leading them off on their new adventure.
After a rather uneventful but pleasant time, Taichi returns with some groceries and Digimon in tow. Tentomon immediately goes for Koushirou’s office as Gatomon checks the place out.
“Looks nice, not as dingy as your old apartment.” Gatomon observes, quick to lay down, and starfish lazily.
“Well, when your partner makes so much, it’s easy to upgrade.” Taichi smiles warmly, proud of Koushirou’s accomplishments.
“Hmm, and what about you?” Gatomon questions, sitting up now that the topic has piqued her interest.
“Well, I’m focusing more on school, and...”
“Hey, don’t feel ashamed, Taichi. You put your all into what you need to, and that’s what’s important.”
“Koushirou said the same thing, but...”
“‘But’ nothing; listen to them. They’ve never been wrong before.” Gatomon counters, giving Taichi a stern but caring look.
With a sigh Taichi nods and agrees, acknowledging how great Koushirou is for shouldering so much. It’s at this moment that he’s reminded of the wrapped package in his hand. It’s a simple box, wrapped in dinosaur wrapping paper, but hopefully Koushirou would enjoy it all the same. Debating on when to gift it, Taichi decides to set it in a drawer and, hopefully, remember to gift it later.
After checking the time, Taichi decides to pop in to Koushirou’s office, softly knocking so as to not scare his love as he enters the room.
“Yes, Taichi-san?” Koushirou smiles up at him, their soft eyes and sweet lips drawing Taichi in to plant some kisses. He begins to get greedy, kissing deeper before Koushirou softly pushes Taichi away.
“You know my one rule,” they say simply, pointing to a curled up Tentomon taking a nap, “no funny business in front of the Digimon.”
Taichi nods and sighs, keeping his hands mostly to himself while giving his partner tamer affection, resulting in a firm shoulder massage.
“Still working even on a Sunday?” Taichi questions, looking over to the screen but just seeing garbled-looking lines of text and graphs. No wonder Tentomon fell asleep.
“Someone found a zero-day in our SSL protocol implementation, so I’m patching and pentesting our services just to be sure we’re no longer at risk.”
“This couldn't result in another Diaboromon, can it…?”
“If it could, do you think I’d be so casual? I’d have called up every Chosen in the world to be on standby as we get Daisuke-kun and Ichijouji-kun to handle it.” They respond practically, eliciting a nod and sigh from Taichi. Koushirou, sensing their partner’s emotions, firmly holds his hands in their own, massaging them.
“You’re still doing your best, Tai; please don’t forget that.” Koushirou says tenderly, smiling up at their partner once again. Taichi returns that smile, still unsure but happy to be believed in. However, Koushirou must soon get back to work, and Taichi leaves to study before starting dinner.
While it was a difficult task, Taichi did successfully get Gatomon to let them have salmon tomorrow, as they already had it yesterday. Instead, today, given the cooler weather, Taichi decided he’d prepare sukiyaki, or hot pot beef and veggies. However, Koushirou wasn’t there at his usual time, which was just after 5 PM. Taichi makes his way to the office quickly, worry building as he opens the door to reveal... Kou, just sleeping in their chair.
Taichi lets out an audible sigh and softly prods the genius awake, kissing their forehead as they wake up.
“Rise and shine, beautiful; it’s time for dinner!”
“Mhhh… I haven’t even had breakfast yet though…?”
Taichi just laughs again and kisses them on the lips, handing Koushirou their water to help wake them up. And now, with a groggy Koushirou in tow, it was time to eat together.
Koushirou casually greets Gatomon, who returns the greeting. After interrogating Kou on how they weren’t surprised, he was informed that Hikari texted them last night. With a pout, he accepts the answer, earning him a peck on the cheek and a thank you for the meal. Now shining brightly, he prays with them before they all dig into the food in their own unique ways.
Taichi was voracious and saved his favorites for last; Koushirou was meticulously melding their flavors together, while Tentomon enjoyed playing with his food as Gatomon was unable to hide their enjoyment as they ate, devouring the food happily.
Soon, with dinner finished, the two Digimon go to play, Tentomon leading Gatomon to their server.
Now, with the two lovers alone, Taichi can’t help but cling to his other half. In response, Koushirou laughs and returns the embrace, saying nothing as Taichi explores their waist casually.
“I’ve missed you today.” Taichi breathes out, feeling his scalp being massaged as he’s held closer.
“It was hardly even 12 hours since we last had sex; you can’t be serious." They laugh, shy and flattered at Taichi’s insatiability, saying, “At least survive until we’re in bed, okay?” Koushirou bargains, kissing his bottom jaw before softly splitting off.
“Fiiineee, but instead we’re cuddling on the couch with a blanket on.” Taichi says, the implications clear to the two of them. Quickly they get cozy on the couch and find a good movie, snuggled close and getting very familiar as they watch the film.
Sooner than they’d like, however, the movie ends, and as they slowly untangle from their mess of limbs, Taichi remembers the gift. Quickly standing, he walks over to the drawer and reveals the box, handing it to Koushirou.
“What is this?” They say, beginning to slowly undo the wrapping.
“It’s a gift for all the hard work you do; I bought it using my own money, so it may not be too great, but I hope you still enjoy it.” Taichi says, rocking on his heels as Koushirou goes faster, careful not to make a mess but wanting to quickly see what it is. Soon, all that is left is a brown box.
Slowly, the brown box is opened to reveal a gorgeous gold necklace with a large onyx, a deep purple contrasted with bright white streaks. Koushirou immediately starts to tear up, grinning softly. Taichi immediately holds his partner, massaging their back as they squeeze tightly.
“An onyx… It represents the birth constellation of Leo, right? Which just so happens to be the first month of August…?” They say through sniffles, overwhelmed somewhat as Taichi confirms, congratulating his love for their quick thinking.
“Say, Tai… I suddenly feel a bit tired... Would you like to go to bed…?” Koushirou says, leaning on their love with a deep, meaningful look in their eye, and Taichi doesn’t need to be asked twice, crazy hat addicts be damned.

I’ve been teasing these drawings for the last few months, and finally, I can share them with you! I feel like I have been spamming you guys lately; hopefully, you are still enjoying my Digimon posts.
Here’s Palmon and Tanemon~! Another favorite line of mine, next to Tentomon and Biyomon. I like the simplicity of the designs, yet they are memorable. Palmon has always been one of my team members in Digimon World 2. I love it when it uses its move, Poison Ivy. I also use Palmon in Digimon Racing; Togemon is so good there! I miss these games so much. I wish Digimon would release a game similar to Digimon World.
-
I hope you enjoyed my post today. See you tomorrow for more Digi content fun!
I also use a Digimon digital background. Credits to the source.
-
Please do not repost my artwork/design. Ask me first.
Thank you!

Digimon Adventure 01x03 - The Blue Wolf! Garurumon! / Garurumon
Previously on Digimon Adventure: Prank phone calls sure do hit different when the emergency line operator is the one doing them.
Good news is, we have like a day's worth of food. Bad news is, we're still in this awful place File Island and don't know how to go home. Or even where we can physically be that won't piss off territorial wildlife. Man, when I signed up for an Isekai, I was promised elf waifus and unearned combat supremacy; I want to speak with this place's manager!
We open on Taichi standing on the edge of a cliff, staring into emo distance. He's trying to make sense of the rules of this death world. Why did only Agumon evolve? Why did he lose his evolution and revert to Agumon again?
Agumon has no answers for him. As noted last episode, the Partner Digimon don't understand how this works either. We're all figuring this shit out together.
Dub Tai makes the wild-ass claim that they've already searched the whole island, which is a bald-faced lie given that exploring File Island will take up much of this arc. Then he just brags about how Greymon is super badass, rather than contemplating how evolution works.
Tai does also ask Agumon why he can't remain as Greymon, but he's more macho about it and kind of mean. "I like you better as Greymon," he says with actual words from his mouth. Agumon apologetically explains that "Even superheroes need a rest."
No time to keep thinking about this, nature has discovered us once again. Monochromon, an Adult-stage Digimon, smashes through some nearby rocks. Tentomon assures us that Monochromon are docile. The narrator agrees, but adds that they have a foul temper.
As a second Monochromon emerges from the other side of the group, the kids quickly decide to skedaddle out of the way. The Monochromon aren't here for us, we're just in the crossfire. Nature can be like that sometimes.
Tentomon speculates that this is a territorial dispute. Makes sense, and also not our problem so we book. Fleeing from this violence, Takeru trips and falls, but Yamato stops to help him, giving the brothers a nice moment.
Once we've run as far as we can from the territory duel, Mimi gets tired. She offhandedly complains that all this walking is going to thicken her calves, prompting Agumon to chime in that thick calves are good 'cause you can kick dirt with them. Palmon argues that leafy feat are better. Mimi is unswayed by both of these arguments.
Dub Mimi adds a bit about shopping malls; "I don't walk this much unless I'm at a mall, and as you can see, we're nowhere near one!" However, the thrust of her complaint remains that she's tired and sore from all this walking. Agumon inexplicably suggests she'd feel better if she took off her shoes and walked in bare feet. Palmon doubles down, saying she loves the feel of dirt between her toes. Mimi is not impressed.
Meanwhile, Koushiro and Sora discuss the strangely colored sunset of File Island. Even the sky in this place is weird. In any case, the sunset brings a more pressing concern: It's going to get dark soon. We're about to spend our first night on File Island.
Tentomon notices the smell of water in the air, so he takes to the sky to scout out and discovers a lake nearby. A freshwater drinking source is a huge discovery in a survival situation, so we should head that way!
It takes very little time to reach a survival consensus. Everyone is tired and hungry. We'll make camp at the lake and figure things out in the morning.
Well, consensus except for Dub Matt. Yamato likes the idea of stopping to rest for reasons that are clearly visible onscreen with him and require no elaboration. Matt, however, decides to be contrarian and barks that "We should keep walking and stop all the complaining!" Harsh, Matt.
Lake's full of telephone poles and shit but honestly we are past caring that File Island is weird. As we approach the lake, the group takes a moment to agree that this is a great spot to camp out for the night.
Mimi's nervous, though. She asks Taichi to clarify that camping means they have to sleep outdoors, which he confirms.
However, a new option suddenly presents itself courtesy of File Island being so weird. As if directly responding to their presence, a trolley sitting on a little island connected to the mainland by a manmade stone bridge suddenly turns on and calls their attention to it.
As they race for the trolley, Dub Tai inexplicably calls out, "Mimi, wait up!" as he leaps through the doors, despite being the first kid to set foot on it.
Having thoroughly failed their Don't Get In A Stranger's Car check, they take a moment investigating the trolley. Taichi and Koushiro confirm that nobody's here. Taichi's extremely bothered by this whole thing. Jou agrees, wondering aloud if the trolley's going to start moving by itself, but Taichi waves him off; There aren't any tracks for the trolley to go down.
Dub Tai agrees with Joe, but thinks it might actually be good if the trolley suddenly kidnaps them all. It might take them home. Dub Tai somehow manages to be worse at Stranger Danger than any of the Japanese crew. To be fair, he's not alone; Dub Mimi said that too.
Well, it's decided. We'll sleep in the trolley tonight. Just like that, the group sets to work on foraging for food and supplies. Last episode, the Digimon said they're good at foraging; Now they get to show off their skills, gathering various fruits and berries. Mimi tries to help, but Palmon stops her from accidentally picking poisonous mushrooms.
Jou and Sora gather firewood while Koushiro and Takeru catch fish to cook. Taichi and Yamato prepare the fire and just like that, we're camping.
When he sees Takeru struggling with figuring out how to eat a whole fish like this, Yamato offers to de-bone it for him. Taichi interrupts and tells Takeru to just start at the head and bite; Takeru accepts that advice and gives it a try.
In the dub, T.K. complains that his mom wouldn't like this. He's only supposed to eat fish sticks, and he's not supposed to eat with his fingers. Matt assures T.K. that he won't tattle, and Tai chimes in to tell him he's "hanging with the big boys now" which seems to settle his nerves.
From there, Taichi approaches Sora, who's filling up a bamboo shaft with water from the lake. He's noticed that Takeru refers to Yamato as "Onii-chan" and he's curious about it. Sora's as lost as he is about it.
Dub Tai already gets that Matt and T.K. are brothers, and instead complains that Matt "doesn't treat T.K. like a brother, only like he's a bother." Rude. Sora agrees, but suggests he's still learning how to be a big brother.
Jou returns from having a short walk around, stargazing. He's been trying to use the night sky to figure out where the hell File Island is, but the sky is wrong. Not just wrong for Japan; It's just wrong. Neither the North Star nor the Southern Cross can be found. So we are neither in the Northern Hemisphere nor the Southern. What does that leave?
Sora quickly corroborates, observing that she can't find any familiar constellations either.
Dub Joe is less thorough than Jou. He doesn't look for the Southern Cross, instead settling on the idea that we must be in the Southern Hemisphere if he can't find the North Star. Mystery solved.
Before long, it's officially time for bed. Time to spend our first night on File Island. Koushiro wants to establish a night watch rotation, which Taichi and Jou quickly agree to.
Taichi suggests that the girls shouldn't have to keep watch. Upon hearing this, Yamato jumps to his feet to demand that Takeru be excluded too. Takeru volunteers to take a turn anyway, but Yamato tells him no; Takeru should just sleep.
The dub cuts Tai's line about wanting Sora and Mimi excluded from the rotation, which leaves Matt issuing demands on T.K.'s behalf out of nowhere. This still works for the scene's intent.
Mimi points out that they have no bedding to sleep with. Getting an idea, Taichi goes straight for Gabumon, trying to steal his pelt away from him. He's only playing around, and he lets go as soon as Gabumon freaks out and runs.
Dub Tai somehow makes this about Mimi, playing her up like a predator in the night who's going to come for Gabumon in the night and cut off his tail.
Yamato angrily shoves Taichi away from Gabumon and the two nearly come to blows before the others tell them to quit it. Jou interrupts, calling the group's attention together so they can set up the shifts. With Sora, Mimi, and Takeru all excluded, the rotation he comes up with is:
Taichi
Yamato
Koushiro
Jou
Sora and Mimi remain excluded from the list even in the dub, so I guess Joe's the sexist one in this version. :P
As the kids prepare for bed in the trolley, they proceed to make unbelievably poor use of all that seating area. Everyone has to sleep in a sitting position but like there is so much space y'all.
Mimi's upset because she's used to sleeping in a bed. Dub Mimi instead is mad that she has to share sleeping space with other people. Rude.
Going to bed, we're made privy to each of their last thoughts as they drift off. Sora hopes they aren't attacked in the night. Mimi wants to take a bath. Koushiro expects it will be a long day for the group tomorrow. Jou wants this all to have been a dream.
In the dub, T.K. bids everyone good night with, "Don't let the Monochromon bite," giving Sora a specific monster anxiety to worry about. Mimi's feet are still sore. Izzy speculates that the aliens he's still on about put the trolley here to help them. Joe worries about getting "monster cooties", actual quote.
Yamato's staked out his own bench to rest on. He orders Gabumon to go keep Takeru warm. Gabumon teases him about loving his brother and Yamato storms off in a fit of embarrassment.
As the group drifts off to sleep, things start to go to shit almost immediately. The other shoe finally begins to drop during Taichi's shift, as he steps on a strange red leaf on his way to wash his face. Nothing comes of it, however. Not yet.
While Taichi's washing his face to stay awake during his shift, Yamato exits the trolley to get away from everyone. He apologizes to Taichi for their earlier fight, and confides that Takeru's closer to Taichi than to him because of his overprotective behavior; Calling back to the earlier incident with the cooked fish.
Dub Matt, meanwhile, continues being a total jerk. He still apologizes but, rather than opening up about his feelings, Matt aggressively blames "having to watch T.K." for his behavior. Nice, bro.
Taichi asks Yamato to explain the nature of their relationship for him. Yamato explains that they're brothers from a broken home; Their parents divorced and the brothers were split between them, which is why they have different last names.
The dub hasn't been playing coy about this the way the original did, so Tai instead has to ask, "Do you two even live in the same house!?" out of nowhere to provoke Matt's explanation. Matt answers that they're half-brothers so that's why they see each other so rarely.
Having had his fill of emotional honesty, Yamato splits with Taichi and goes to play his harmonica by the lake shore. He's shortly joined by Gabumon, doing a startlingly poor job of being Takeru's blanket.
That's when it happens.
Okay, fucko, I can handle being stepped on but that is a bridge too far. Local wildlife mad now.
I blame Taichi for this. 100%. That fin wasn't exactly hard to spot.
This is the Adult-stage Seadramon, the first of a particular kind of Digimon. The "dramon" lineage is a pun on the word "dragon". Any time you meet a -dramon, that's a dragon Digimon. Seadramon is, of course, the Sea Dragon Digimon.
Seadramon honestly wants nothing to do with this. His first reaction to his rude awakening is to try and peace out. Unfortunately, his tail is embedded in the island, so he ends up dragging it around with him.
Tentomon explains that Seadramon is normally pretty docile. He only attacks if he feels threatened. As long as we haven't threatened him, we should be fine. As Tentomon says this, he hops directly onto Seadramon's tail like an idiot.
Really playing up how much this impending fight is absolutely, 100% our fault. We screwed up. Seadramon is trying to defend himself against us.
This context doesn't make it into the dub. Instead, Tentomon assures the others that they'll be fine as long as Seadramon doesn't realize they're here; However, by stepping on Seadramon's tail like that, he reveals their presence to the dangerous predator.
Wrenching his tail free of the island, Seadramon retaliates by submerging himself and pushing the island further out into the lake until it collides with those telephone poles we saw earlier and can't budge any further.
Seeing Takeru in trouble, Yamato doesn't even hesitate to throw himself in the water and swim halfway across the dragon-occupied lake to reach his brother. Gabumon hesitates for a moment, not wanting to get his fur wet, but pursues Yamato anyway.
As Seadraman renews his assault on the island, the Child-stage Digimon try to fend him off, but their attacks are useless against an Adult-stage Digimon as usual. Taichi tries to get Agumon to evolve, but he can't; Agumon doesn't know why. As previously established, the Digimon don't understand this whole thing any better than the kids do.
Dub Agumon is lost too, but at least offers speculation. He thinks his body might still be tired from his fight with Shellmon. Valid theory.
Takeru falls in the water trying to get to Yamato, but Gomamon gives him a ride. Trusting Gomamon to take care of Takeru, Yamato and Gabumon throw themselves into the Seadramon fight.
Gabumon's signature move is Petit Fire. Like Baby Flame, this conveys the idea that it's a junior attack fitting of a Child-stage Digimon. The dub calls it Blue Blaster. Like the other Child attacks, Petit Fire is useless against Seadramon, who flicks Gabumon away with little difficulty.
Wrapping his tail around Yamato, Seadramon goes in for the kill.
The dub uses careful language to avoid explicitly saying that Seadramon is going to kill Matt, but nonetheless conveys the same idea. Tentomon calls Seadramon a "bubble brain" but explains that "once he finds his prey, he won't let go".
Takeru, Patamon, and Gabumon briefly discuss what they can do. Takeru wants Patamon to help, but Patamon is powerless so he turns to Gabumon. Gabumon's hesitation strikes again; He wants to help Yamato but he isn't strong enough to intervene.
However, as he watches Seadramon choke the life out of Yamato, Gabumon thinks about his harmonica music and how much he wants to hear it again. He dwells on that music and how badly he wants to hear Yamato play, then lets out a bloodcurdling scream and begins his Adult-stage evolution.
None of this emotional conflict makes it into the dub. English Gabumon agrees to go save Matt immediately, calling out that he's on his way and assertively saying, "What's a little stinky fur compared to a friend like him?"
Either way, Gabumon SHINKAAAAAA!!!
Gabumon's Adult-stage is Garurumon, another onomatopoeia name. He's named for the sound of a wolf growling. "Garururururu...."
While Garurumon and Seadramon fight, Tentomon explains that Garurumon's fur is as strong as the legendary metal mythril. The kids don't know what that is, so Koushiro asks for clarification. This puts Tentomon on the spot, who has to admit that he doesn't know what mythril is either. Taichi wonders aloud if they should really be trusting Tentomon's word when he's explaining the Digimon lore.
Dub Tentomon only equates Garurumon's fur to steel, and adds that he's a "growling torpedo". Izzy understands what that means and declares Garurumon to be invincible, forcing Tentomon to backpedal and say it's only local heresay, nothing concrete. Tai then accuses him of "exaggerating with another one of your wild fish tales again". Uh, another?
For once, we get some focus on the antagonist's special moves too. Seadramon is a wild animal so he doesn't talk, but Tentomon explains this to be his signature move Ice Arrow. Fitting for a sea dragon, he has frost breath.
Garurumon matches it with his Fox Fire. The dub calls this Howling Blaster.
Y'all, he just wanted to sleep.
Gomamon's Marching Fishes bring us back to land, but the sun comes up and nobody's rested. Exhausted, conversation turns to Gabumon's evolution.
Sora suggests that Gabumon was able to evolve this time because it was Yamato in danger. Taichi remembers Agumon evolving to protect him and corroborates that theory. The kids are beginning to develop an understanding of how evolution functions.
Once that's settled, the kids find spaces in the grass to snooze; Everyone's too tired to even care anymore where they rest their heads.
We close this episode on Yamato playing Takeru and Gabumon to sleep.
...I guess technically it is his turn to take watch.

Explanations for why I did the Cinnamon Roll Meme this way:
Looks like a cinnamon roll, is actually a cinnamon roll — Agumon, coz he's an adorable little dinosaur more likely to try the diplomatic approach than to jump immediately into fighting; Piyomon, coz she's an adorable pink bird who gives emotional support to her friends; Tachikawa Mimi, coz (especially after her growth as a person) she's a compassionate person; Kamiya "Kari" Hikari, coz she puts others first to the point of getting ill and/or injured solely coz she wants to not be a burden to them; Wallace "Willis" Williams, coz they cares 'bout the safety of random strangers & tries to solve difficult situations alone to avoid putting others in danger; Motomiya Daisuke, coz he refuses to harm his friends and he'll befriend you even if you've done something bad since he knows you genuinely regret what you did; Hida Iori, coz she's a semi-pacifist who despises killing & lying.
Looks like a cinnamon roll, could actually kill you — Kamiya "Tai" Taichi, coz he's an adorable goofball who (usually) doesn't hesitate to jump into danger to save his friends & has no problem killing anyone threatening them (especially if Kari is the friend whose life is under threat since she's his biological fullsister); Takenouchi Sora, coz when she was age 11-12 it was damned clear in canon that she could easily assassinate people if she wanted to & everyone are lucky that she's genuinely nice; Gomamon, coz he's an adorable goofball who nevertheless can (with his friends' help) kill a Champion Level Digimon as a Rookie; Patamon, coz he's 1 of the most adorable Rookie Level Digimon ever yet also a major powerhouse upon digivolving; Ichijouji Ken, coz he literally tried to murder a fellow human when he was the Digimon Kaiser/Digimon Emperor and even after becoming a good person he had no problem with sending a majorly evil Digimon (who was being basically a terrorist) into the Dark Ocean yet he's still a genuinely nice kid; Inoue Miyako, coz she's a nerdy & genuinely nice kid yet doesn't hesitate to smack an Ultimate Level Digimon with a skateboard and (despite initially hesitating) is willing to do whatever it takes to get rid of enemies who've proven they're willing to slaughter innocent people.
Looks like they could kill you, is a cinnamon roll — Gabumon, coz his teeth and horn make him seem the scariest of the 8 original Digimon partners yet he's also the gentlest of them all; Izumi "Izzy" Kōshirō, coz anyone aware of Izzy's badass computer skills would be scared of him (I certainly was as a kid & still am as an adult despite my immense respect for his skills in both childhood & adulthood), but Izzy actually is a good kid; Kido Joe, coz he's the oldest DigiDestined and literally throws himself on Digimon in attempts to protect his friends, so you'd think he's some badass combatant yet actually Joe is the team's medic & a very responsible person; Takaishi "Keru" Takeru, coz he doesn't hesitate to punch the face of anyone intentionally messing with Darkness & sometimes is abrasive when he talks to people (even when they're his loved ones), so (similarly to Joe) it's easy to assume he's a violent person 'til you get to see his soft side; Wormmon, coz he's an insect Digimon that looks far more scary than cute yet he's as gentle as Gabumon; Hawkmon, coz he looks like a typical bird of prey yet in personality is more of a polite & caring older brother instead of a carnivore; Armadimon/Armadillomon, coz he is an armadillo dinosaur who looks scary yet in personality is simply a goofball.
Looks like they could kill you, could actually kill you — Ishida "Mat" Yamato, coz this DigiDestined by far scares me the most (except Ken was scarier during his time as the Digimon Kaiser/Digimon Emperor) due to his explicit willingness to kill his enemies & ('til he grew as a person) attack his friends making his aloofness feel more threatening than make him seem unapproachable; Tentomon, coz he's a giant bug whose digivolved forms are even bigger & scarier bugs and he once destroyed an entire pocket dimension as AtlerKabuterimon/MegaKabuterimon; Palmon, coz she's a plant lizard with poison attacks; Tailmon/Gatomon, coz she's introduced punching the snot out of 6 fellow Champion Digimon much bigger than her & the 2 being each other's fated adventuring platonic partners is the only reason she didn't murder Kari; Lopmon & Terriermon, coz the twins' horns mitigate their adorable appearance into seeming less approachable plus Lopmon spends most of his screentime as Wendimon plus Terriermon gains gun arms whenever she digivolves into her Champion form; Veemon, coz. he's a junvenile wingless dragon who'll headbutt the snot out of you before digivolving into 1 of his bigger forms which have very sharp claws & teeth.

Partners for the Digimon Frontier Digidestined
In Episode 47, the Digidestined land on the Yellow Moon, courtesy to an attack from the freed Lucemon. There they meet the Baby Digimon and Digimon Eggs they had previously encountered, which had been under Swanmon's protection. And each of the Digidestined picks up a newly hatched Digimon, holding them in their arms. One day, I had the idea of making a list. Based on the Digimon they each picked up, what would each Digidestined's partner be if they had partners instead of Spirits?
I went according to what each Digimon would evolve in according to Wikimon, which contains all kinda official evolutions throughout all the different media (be it Pendulums, games, or whatever). At the same time, I tried to stick to each kid's theme where possible, like electricity for JP and wind for Zoe. Only ones that were impossible were Takuya and Tommy, since none of the Digimon they picked up had anything with ice or fire in their evolution trees.
Also, the Digivices would be the D3 from Adventure 02, cause I like the idea that these partners would also be able to Armor Digivolve - into armor Digimon we didn't see in anime yet as well (or at least not with the 02 kid's Digimon. We got Sagittarimon appearing shortly twice, but I'd loved to see Veemon actually evolve with the Digimental of Hope in an anime).
So, have fun, and if you have any ideas, don't hesitate to let me know with a comment. ;) Enjoy the list!
Takuya
Digivice color: Dark blue
Chibomon - Demiveemon - Veemon - Veedramon - Aero-Veedramon - UlforceVeedramon
It would have been quite tempting to put the evolution line of Davis's Veemon. However, Paildramon and Imperialdramon are Jogress Evolutions, and we don't know what Exveemon would evolve into without Stingmon. Luckily, we have a very cool alternative option in the line of Tai's (probably) Veemon from the V-Tamer manga. So I went with that. Speaking of Tai - it's interesting that they gave him Chibomon and not Botamon/Koromon. The Agumon line would have kept the fire theme. But honestly... I would love to see the Veedramon line in anime one day. Or why not animate V-Tamer?
Koji
Digivice color: Light blue
Poyomon - Tokomon - Patamon - Angemon - MagnaAngemon - Goddramon
What can I say, with him getting a Tokomon...? Of course I had to pick the Angemon line. I only switched up the Mega level, picking Goddramon instead of Seraphimon. For... multiple, sometimes obvious reasons.
Koichi
Digivice color: Dark purple
Poyomon - Tokomon - Tukaimon - BlackGatomon - LadyDevimon - Mastemon
Oooff... my favourite Frontier kid, and he was the hardest to do. I wanted to keep a dark aestetic, since he does have the Spirits of Darkness. And I wanted to do like a dark counterpart to Koji. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of dark colored angel or angel-like Digimon that aren't evil. I think there are even none of those. That's why I was reluctant to pick LadyDevimon, since she usually is an antagonist when she appears in the anime. Isn't the only good LadyDevimon the one from Cyber Sleuth? But I think this is the list I feel most content with from all the option that I checked out. And Mastemon is pretty cool-looking. n.n I also could have gone with a cat aestetic, since, well, AncientSphinxmon, Löwemon and KaiserLeomon, but that worked out pretty badly as well.
Zoe
Digivice color: Pink
Poromon - Hawkmon - Aquilamon - Sylphimon - Valkyriemon
Thank god they gave her Poromon. This made her list pretty easy. I mean, as holder of the Spirit of Winds, what better for her than a bird Digimon? Unfortunately we don't have a proper Ultra Level for Aquilamon, so I had to pick the Jogress Evolution Sylphimon. But I am not sad; it visually fits quite well with Aquilamon, and is also a perfect segway into Valkyriemon.
J.P.
Digivice color: Dark yellow
Motimon - Tentomon - Kabuterimon - Alturkabuterimon Blue - Herakleskabuterimon
Another veery easy pick. Tentomon line. Elektric bug. Need I say more? I only switched Izzy's red Alturkabuterimon its blue variant to pay tribute to the blue in Beetlemon's color pallet.
Tommy
Digivice color: Light yellow
Upamon - Armadillomon - Ankylomon - Shakkoumon - SlashAngemon
No ice for Tommy-boy here. However, I think he'd be very cute with Armadillomon, especially if it were anything like Cody's Armadillmon from 02. Here, I too had to pick the Jogress Evolution Shakkoumon for Ultra Level. But with SlashAngemon as Mega, I don't mind, since Shakkoumon serves as a good segway from earth to steel (and angel).

The Return of Lowder Reviews: Digimon Adventure (1999-2000) and Digimon Adventure: Our War Game!/Digimon Adventure Part 3: Favorite of all time!!! Myotismon and Dark Masters Arc.
Second part to my Digimon Adventure (1999-2000) review this time covering the Myotismon Arc and Dark Masters Arc.
Warning: These are my opinions and you and I can disagree and agree on some things.
Myotismon Arc: 22-39
Episode 22: "Forget About It!"/"The Small Devil, PicoDevimon"
Synopsis
Tai and Agumon return to the Digital World to find Tokomon. Tokomon relays what has happened in the time (which is several weeks in DigiWorld time) they have been gone. He reveals that the entire group has separated and that DemiDevimon has tricked Takeru into becoming his "friend." Takeru realizes DemiDevimon's trickery after Agumon exposes him for a fraud. Tokomon Digivolves to Patamon and drives DemiDevimon away.
Thoughts
This episode focuses on Takeru, and explains where the other DigiDestined went, and this gives the story something to focus on for the next episode and I like that. This episode reminds me that Takeru is still a kid and that he should be protected. This episode and the previous one are what I see as a break from everything that has happened in the Etemon arc. Overall, fun episode that explains where everybody else is and sets up for our next major villain.
8/10: Good episode that sets up for the future.
Episode 23: "WereGarurumon's Diner"/"Oh Friend! WereGarurumon"
Synopsis
Yamato, Gabumon, Joe, and Gomamon are being forced to work at Digitamamon's diner to pay off a meal. DemiDevimon sets off a series of accidents that makes Yamato question Joe's friendship. Yamato overcomes his feeling when Joe is willing to sacrifice himself to save Takeru. Yamato crest glows and Garurumon Digivolves to WereGarurumon and defeats Digitamamon.
Thoughts
This episode is good, the characters get developed a little, and we get more hints towards are next big bad. This episode also shows that DemiDevimon will become a present threat that tries to fracture the by lying but it always fail when someone who has met him before appears and says that he is evil. The fight is short but it works for the introduction to WereGarurumon.
8/10: Good episode but has a somewhat short fight.
Episode 24: "No Questions, Please"/"Break Through! AtlurKabuterimon"
Synopsis
Koushiro is trapped in Vademon's pocket dimension and robbed of his curiosity. Tentomon eventually De-Digivolves to Pabumon, but manages to snap Koushiro out of his trance. DemiDevimon attempts to buy Koushiro's crest from Vademon, and in the confusion, Koushiro recovers his crest and his curiosity. Kabuterimon then Digivolves to MegaKabuterimon and defeats Vademon.
Thoughts
I enjoyed this episode because it shows how closes the bond between Koushiro and Tentomon. I like the reappearance of Motimon. This episode shows that DemiDevimon is becoming desperate and needs the tag or else he will receive consequences for not getting the crests.
8/10: Good episode that hints towards the future.
Episode 25: "Princess Karaoke"/"The Sleeping Tyrant! TonosomaGekomon"
Synopsis
Joe, Tai and their partners find Mimi being treated like a princess by a bunch of Gekomon and Otamamon so that she will sing and try to wake up ShogunGekomon. She has her friends locked in a dungeon when they try to trick her. However, Sora convinces her to sing. ShogunGekomon awakens and attacks the kids. MetalGreymon manages to defeat him and Mimi apologizes for her behavior.
Thoughts
This episode is comedic and learning a lesson episode and I laughed at some of the gags like the horrible singing. Mimi acts selfish in the beginning but later becomes less selfish after realizing that she needs her friends, and usually that plot would be cliche and end up bad but I think it works here. MetalGreymon appearing in this episode was fun.
8/10: Good comedic episode.
Episode 26: "Sora's Crest of Love"/"Shining Wings! Garudamon"
Synopsis
The two groups reunite. Sora tells them about the meanings of each of their crests, and how DemiDevimon told her that she had no love in her life and thus her crest would never glow. Myotismon appears, and easily defeats the Digimon. An injured Biyomon goes to help them and Sora's concern and love causes her crest to glow. Birdramon Digivolves into Garudamon and helps the group escape.
Thoughts
Another favorite as this episode not only introduces Myotismon and shows how powerful he is but also develops Sora. Despite this being his first true appearance to the DigiDestined, he has been acting behind the scenes like sending DemiDevimon to cause issues for the DigiDestined and when he does get involved, he is able to easily beat them and even when Garudamon appears, he still isn't struggling. Sora reunites with the others and gets developed by revealing why she helped them but didn't rejoin early by having no love in here life like from her mother, before eventually learning that her mother actually did care and I love this because it finally allows her crest to activate and no longer feeling this way anymore.
10/10: Another favorite of mine.
Episode 27: "The Gateway To Home"/"Vamdemon, the Castle of Darkness"
Synopsis
Gennai appears and tells them that there is an eighth DigiDestioned and that Myotismon is planning to go to the Real World with an army of evil Digimon to find him/her. The kids infiltrate Myotismon's castle in an attempt to stop him from opening a gate that will allow him access to the Real World, but fail when Gatomon animates a series of Devidramon statues.
Thoughts
I like this episode, it sets up things like Myotismon's plan to and invasion of Japan and this introduces us to Gatomon, who will be important later on. Myotismon's castle, while only appearing in this episode and the next, feels like a dangerous and terrifying place with the weird catwalk and something about it feels out of place, even in the Digital World.
8/10: Good episode that sets up things for the future.
Episode 28: "It's All In The Cards"/"The Chase! Hurry to Japan"
Synopsis
The hopeless children travels to Gennai's home, where he unravels some secrets about the Digital World. When the kid return to the castle to try to open the gate, they battle with Dokugumon and the castle is destroyed. Koushiro manages to reveal the order of the cards, but is left out with two more cards for one space. Tai decides to choose Gomamon's card instead of his partner's, and they manage to open the gateway and get back to the Real World.
Thoughts
This episode is a fun one. This episode has the DigiDestined return to their world and frankly I love the journey they took to return. They are given and told what they need to do and what is required but it isn't easy due to some being left to guard and they use two of the Ultimates they have and use it to overpower the enemy and the fight is enjoyable. I love them returning and how happy they are.
9/10: Good episode that suceeds at what it does.
Episode 29: "Return to Highton View Terrace"/"Mammon, the Great Clash at Hikarigaoka!"
Synopsis
The DigiDestined return to camp they were originally at, and then head to Hikarigaoka, to try and find the eighth child. There, a battle between Garudamon and Mammothmon helps them recall how they all witnessed a battle four years ago between a Greymon and a Parrotmon, and surmise that the eight child must have also seen the fight.
Thoughts
This episode begins the DigiDestined looking for the eigth child and reveals more about why they were chosen due to a battle between two Digimon, connecting to the Digimon Adventure prequel movie. I love how this connects to the prequel movie by showing flashbacks and revealing what happened after. This episode has some fun bits like trying to pass off the Digimon as some toys and other bits like that.
9/10: Great episode that connects well to the prequel movie.
Episode 30: "Almost Home Free"/"Digimon, the Great Crossing of Tokyo!!"
Synopsis
The DigiDestined have a series of misadventures trying to get back to their homes in Odaiba. Eventually they end up getting a ride from a stranger, who later accidentally pushes Koushiro off a bridge. Gesomon attacks and is defeated by Ikkakumon.
Thoughts
This episode focuses on the DigiDestined and their continueing search for the eighth child. I like how the Digimon are treated as either some toys or special effects because to an outsiders point of view, they would be seen as that. I like how the previous episode is mentioned due to this being the real world. I enjoyed this episode
8/10: Good and normal episode.
Episode 31: "The Eighth Digivice"/"Raremon! Surprise Attack on Tokyo Bay"
Synopsis
At long last, the DigiDestined return to their homes. Kari's Digivice, which she doesn't even know about yet, gets carried off by her cat. The Digivice sets off a signal that brings in DemiDevimon, Raremon and Koushiro. Kabuterimon manages to defeat Raremon.
Thoughts
I like this episode. It focuses on mainly Koushiro with Tai mostly at home and the others either being relegated to the background or not even in the episode minus recaps and I like this focus as it reveals more about Koushiro like him being adopted and I just to give him a hug for all his trouble. The vibes of this episode feels more slice of life compared to most of the previous episodes barring episode 21 and the previous two episodes. This gives more hints that Kari is potentially the eigth DigiDestined. The fight against Raremon reminded me a lot of a kaiju, but Raremon seems to be based off Hedorah, a Godzilla kaiju, so it's not really shocking to me.
9/10: Great episode that feels like a great calming episode compared to the others.
Episode 32: "Gatomon Comes Calling"/"Tokyo Tower is Hot! DeathMeramon"
Synopsis
The DigiDestined continue their search for the eighth child. Gatomon crosses paths with Kari and wonders if she could be the eighth child. Sora, Mimi, Tai, and Koushiro battle and defeat SkullMeramon on Tokyo Tower.
Thoughts
This episode continues the search for eighth DigiDestined and gives us more hints towards the identity of the eighth. I like this one, it shows the DigiDestined trying to find the Eighth DigiDestined but unable to find them due to a crow taking the Eighth's Digivice in the last episode. I like the scenes between Kari and Gatomon because this is the first meeting between two future friends. The fight against SkullMeramon is good.
8/10: Good episode.
Episode 33: "Out on the Town"/"Pump and Gotsu are Shibuya-Type Digimon"
Synopsis
As the DigiDestined continue their search, Yamato and Takeru, who are searching for Patamon whom Takeru just had a fight with, run into Pumpkinmon and Gotsumon, two servants of Myotismon who are far more interested in having fun than helping Myotismon. When they refuse to destroy Yamato and Takeru, they are transported back to the Digital World to be killed by Myotismon and riling up the brothers in the process.
Thoughts
My feelings on this episode are a bit mixed but leaning more positive. The beginning is fine and set up is fine, and I feel it works. My biggest issues come from Pumpkinmon and Gotsumon scenes after Patamon and Takeru's fight, I didn't really find the jokes funny. But when Myotismon appears, the episode starts to become better as Myotismon shows how evil he is by killing both Pumpkinmon and Gotsumon, and while I didn't really enjoy their jokes, I was still shocked by them both being killed because they were just two guys that made jokes and only made Myotismon more evil to me. The fight between Myotismon and WereGarurumon is one of my favorites as this one of the few time Myotismon gets involved himself and I like seeing Angemon return.
7/10: Good episode that sorta drags in the middle.
Episode 34: "The Eighth Child Revealed"/"Fate's Bond! Tailmon"
Synopsis
Wizardmon finds Kari's Digivice and brings Gatomon and Kari together. It is revealed that Kari is the eighth DigiDestined and that Gatomon is her partner. Gatomon and Wizardmon decide to get Kari's crest from Myotismon, but this only leads to Gatomon's capture and the apparent killing of Wizardmon.
Thoughts
This episode reveals that Kari is the eighth DigiDestined and Gatomon's backstory. Throughout this arc, we have been getting hints on who the eighth Digidestined and I love how previous things connect for this like where the crow went in episode 31 and the fight against Myotismon in the previous episode. Gatomon's backstory is sad but also hints at her future partner, Kari. I like the fight against Myotismon as he continues to prove how powerful and evil he is.
9/10: Good episode that finally reveals our eighth Digidestined.
Episode 35: "Flower Power"/"Odaiba's Fairy! Lilymon Blossoms"
Synopsis
Myotismon creates a barrier of fog around Odaiba and evil Digimon roam the streets. Bakemon and Phantomon begin taking people from their homes and holding them prisoner. Sora and Mimi get captured and try to plan an escape. Biyomon and Sora's mother come to her rescue, and Palmon Digivolves into Lillymon to defeat a minion DarkTyrannomon and hold off Myotismon.
Thoughts
Things are starting to heat up with a lot of the peple in Odaiba being kidnapped and held prisoner by Myotismon's after sending Phantomon and multiple Bakemon kidnap these people. I already know Myotismon was pure evil but considering how things have been going lately for his army, I'm not shocked he decide to get his hands and when he does it why he leads compared to everyone else here. I like that we see more of the parents and see a lot of their reactions to some of their kids Digimon. While the kids main conflict of this episode aren't in the main conflict due to not knowing what is happening like Takeru and Joe, doing something like Tai, Kari, and Yamato, or just don't make a physical appearance like Koushiro, but I'm fine with this because it makes the focus on Sora and Mimi greater.
10/10: Great Episode that begins the final stretch of episodes of the Myotismon arc.
Episode 36: "City Under Siege" "Break through the Barrier! Zudomon Spark!"
Synopsis
Myotismon uses Gatomon to try and identify the eight child. Kari is found by Phantomon and gives herself up so that Matt and Sora are not harmed. Meanwhile, Joe and Takeru travel back through Odaiba Bay and are attacked by MegaSeadramon after finding Wizardmon with Kari's crest in his possession. When Joe almost drowns, his crest glows and Ikkakumon Digivolves to Zudomon and defeats MegaSeadramon.
Thoughts
This episode has Koushiro, Joe, and Takeru arrive to help but it is to late as things start to get worst as Kari is captured. I like how the situation has just gotten worst due to Myotismon's army just being strong and deadly considering they didn't see this coming. I like the feel and overall tone for how dire the situation is. Kinda wish we saw Zudomon a little more and Koushiro do a little more.
9/10: Great episode that will eventually to a finale for this arc.
Episode 37: "Wizardmon's Gift"/"Perfects Attack Together! Sparkling Angewomon"
Synopsis
The DigiDestined are reunited. Wizardmon heals Lillymon who was attacked by Myotismon, and follows the group to the top of the TV Station. When Myotismon tries to attack, Wizardmon saves Kari and Gatomon, but at the cost of his own life. Gatomon Digivolves to Angewomon and defeats Myotismon with the help of the combined powers of the others.
Thoughts
This episode, oh this episode. This another one of my favorites as it has a lot of action, character, introduces another evolution and the end to one of my favorite villains. I genuinely love how this episode ends, as despite killing Myotismon with their combined power, the fog isn't going away and sets up for what is next to come.
10/10: Excellent episode with a lot of things going for it.
Episode 38: "Prophecy"/"Revival! The Demon Lord VenomVamdemon"
Synopsis
An ancient DigiWorld prophecy comes true as Myotismon returns as VenomMyotismon. Angemon and Angewomon, following the end of the prophecy, shoot Tai and Yamato with their arrows of Hope and Light, given from the crests of Takeru and Kari, allowing Agumon and Gabumon to Warp Digivolve into WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon.
Thoughts
This episode introduces us to a prophecy, more world-building, of Myotismon returning as VenomMyotismon but the introduction to two of my favorite Digimon, WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon. I love how this sets up for next episode. Also in this episode, we meet more of the others family, Joe's brother, and more about Koushiro's backstory. This episode serves as a calm before the storm although, if the storm was already violent and this is just a hurricane joining the fight. I loved to see what happens next.
9/10: Great episode that sets up for the finale of this arc.
Episode 39: "The Battle for Earth"/"Two Great Ultimate Evolutions! Get Rid of the Darkness!"
Synopsis
With the help of the entire team, and their Digivices, WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon are able to defeat VenomMyotismon. However, the Digital world seems to appear in the Sky, and anything that touches it or the Digimon that seem to come out of it, freezes. After saving a plane, they realize that they must hold off on enjoying time with their families, and instead must return to the Digital world to save it once more.
Thoughts
The finale to an arc I genuinely liked, this episode has a first-half that ends the fight between the DigiDestined and VenomMyotismon that is shockingly well animated, and the second-half deals with the aftermath and returning back to the Digital world. I love this because despite defeating Myotismon/VenomMyotismon and his forces, they have one more thing to do before finally returning home. The fights are great, the stakes are high, and I enjoy all of the characters here. This is why I love Digimon, a fun and interesting story.
12/10: A excellent arc finale that leads into the next arc seamlessly.
Dark Masters Arc: 40-54
Episode 40: "Enter The Dark Masters"/"The Four Kings of the Mountain of the Devil! The Dark Masters!"
Synopsis
As the DigiDestined return to the Digital World, they learn of the four Dark Masters who have taken it over. MetalSeadramon, Puppetmon, Machinedramon, and Piedmon are all mega level Digimon, and are more than a match for the DigiDestined. Piximon manages to save the children, although dying in the process.
Thoughts
We finally return to the Digital World, but with this return, we meet our new villains. I'm gonna be honest with you, I love the Dark Masters' introduction as it shows how they act and what they can do. I love how effective and powerful, and I was shocked by both Chuumon and Piximon being killed by the Dark Masters, showing how evil they are. Biggest flaw would probably be the evolution sequences taking a bit of time, but I can probably excuse them by wanting show how powerful each Dark Master is compared to the DigiDestined.
8//10: Great introduction to our final main villains but the evolution sequences take up a little too much time.
Episode 41: "Sea-Sick and Tired"/"The Hardened King of the Seas! MetalSeadramon"
Synopsis
The kids, hungry and longing for food, happen upon a small shack on the beach. As they enter, they fall into the trap of one of MetalSeadramon's minions, Scorpiomon. They eventually escape and defeat Scorpiomon, who is then destroyed by MetalSeadramon. They try to escape by sea but are immediately stopped by MetalSeadramon. But just as the kids are about to be destroyed by MetalSeadramon, Whamon comes to their rescue and they flee to the bottom of the ocean.
Thoughts
This episode features our first non-introduction fight against one of the Dark Masters, MetalSeadramon, and some growth as the DigiDestined have become stronger but as shown against Scorpiomon, need a little more to be able to take down one of the Dark Masters. I like how we see that the Dark Masters have an army similar to previous villains but unlike others they have been successful and have actual power compared to the others. I also like how we see more of the previously met Digimon helping them.
8/10: Good Episode
Episode 42: "Under Pressure""Silent Whamon on the Bottom of the Sea"
Synopsis
Koushiro realizes that WarGreymon is known as a "Dramon Destroyer" and would be ideal in defeating MetalSeadramon. After escaping some Divermon, MetalSedramon catches up to them, and a battle begins. Agumon Warp Digivolves into WarGreymon but is nearly destoyed by MetalSeadramon. Whamon tries to help WarGreymon but is destroyed in the process. WarGreymon finally manages to defeat MetalSeadramon.
Thoughts
This episode features the first true and biggest win for the DigiDestined in their battle against the Dark Masters, the death MetalSeadramon. I love how he is beaten using more strategy as while weak to WarGreymon's gauntlets, the "Dramon Destroyers", he had armor and the best way to beat him was to use WarGreymon's Great Tornado and go through him. This also establishes that when one of the Dark Masters are defeated/killed, Spiral Mountain one of its portion like MetalSeadramon's ocean. Whamon's hurts especially after what happened to some of the previous ones like Piximon.
9/10: Great Episode a major blow to the villains.
Episode 43: "Playing Games"/"The Dangerous Game! Pinocchimon"
Synopsis
After creating a memorial for their lost friends, The kids then go into a forest were they are continually taunted by Puppetmon, using toys to move them around. He kidnaps Takeru, who manages to demolish the toys Puppetmon was using to control the kids and escape. Yamato leaves the group after his little brother returns, realizing that he isn't needed to protect Takeru anymore.
Thoughts
This episode is a fun one and shows us our next Dark Master, Puppetmon, and boy is he fun. The beginning shows the effects of MetalSeadramon and graves of the fallen Digimon that helped them like Piximon and Whamon. I like how this episode focuses on Takeru and how he is becoming braver. My biggest issue with this episode is probably the conflict between Tai and Yamato but I can probably excuse it as considering everything that has happened has pushed them to the limit.
8/10: Great and fun episode with a lot to enjoy.
Episode 44: "Trash Day"/"Jureimon of the Lost Forest"
Synopsis
Yamato is tricked by Cherrymon, a minion of Puppetmon, into believing that Tai is his rival and that Yamato needs to defeat him. Cherrymon realizes that if the cards aren't played right, that Puppetmon would lose. Puppetmon was insulted by this and destroyed Cherrymon, before leaving to go see the pending fight. Meanwhile, Puppetmon's platoon of Garbagemon are handled by Lillymon and MetalGreymon.
Thoughts
This episode is interesting as it mainly focuses Yamato and him not knowing what to do and during this, he is tricked by Cherrymon, which leads to him thinking Tai is his rival and wanting to fight him. I like how this develops Yamato as character and this will probably be finished in the next episode. While that is happening, the other 7 are fighting some of Puppetmon's minions and this is enjoyable. I like how this episode ends and I wonder how this conflict will end.
8/10: Great episode that develops Yamato and sets up for the next episode.
Episode 45: "The Ultimate Clash"/"Clash of the Ultimates! WarGreymon VS MetalGarurumon"
Synopsis
Tension runs high as a fight breaks out between Yamato and Tai as well as their respective partners. Suddenly, Kari's body is taken over by a strange entity, explaining why the children were chosen to save the DigiWorld in the first place. Yamato leaves the group again. Mimi, who no longer wants to fight anymore, and Joe, who wants to protect Mimi, leave as well.
Thoughts
This episode is interesting as we get to see the reason to hy these eight were chosen and a sorta ending to Tai and Yamato's rivalry. I like the beginning as we see that Tai has grown a lot since the beginning and I like that he doesn't want to fight Yamato because he doesn't see him as rival but a friend. I like how we get to see a backstory for why the DigiDestined were chosen and gives a lot more world building and lore for the story. I wonder what will happen next as the group has been separated into three.
10/10: Excellent episode that expands on the entire story.
Episode 46: "Etemon's Comeback Tour"/"The Counterattack of MetalEtemon"
Synopsis
Etemon returns as MetalEtemon to take revenge on the DigiDestined. Joe and Mimi rescue Ogremon who was injured when Woodmon attacked him. The others get inside of Puppetmon's mansion with the help of two of his 'playmates,' who keep Puppetmon at bay with his own cannon.
Thoughts
To contrast the somber tone the last episode had, this one is a lot more goofier as it has the return of what is currently my favorite villain, Etemon as MetalEtemon. I like Etemon return as he is my favorite villain as of now and seeing him fight Puppetmon is fun despite how short it is. I like seeing Ogremon again as we haven't seen him since File Island and also continues to show how other Digimon are dealing with Spiral Mountain. I like how the other children strategize to go into Puppetmon's mansion considering how deadly Puppetmon is.
9/10: Fun episode that features the return of my favorite villain.
Episode 47: "Ogremon's Honor"/"Oh Wind! Oh Light! SaberLeomon"
Synopsis
Leomon returns as SaberLeomon, and saves Joe and Mimi from MetalEtemon. He explains that his exposure to the digivices helped him to Digivolve, but he cannot control it. He is later fatally wounded by MetalEtemon when he attempts to save Mimi. SaberLeomon manages to defeat MetalEtemon with Zudomon's help. Before he dies, Leomon and Ogremon make peace with each other, and Mimi and Joe decide to gather more reinforcements. Puppetmon is also defeated by MetalGarurumon.
Thoughts
This episode features the deaths of MetalEtemon, Leomon, and Puppetmon, meaning two Dark Masters are left. I like revisiting some old locations and characters we have been before and it continues to show the horrible state the Digital World has been left in thanks to the Dark Masters. I like seeing the fight between SaberLeomon and MetalEtemon as it is fun and how MetalEtemon is creative by using Zudomon's hammer to put a crack in MetalEtemon and SaberLeomon using it to kill MetalEtemon. The fight against Puppetmon is fun and shows that despite being powerful he got overwhelmed and when backed into a corner, leading to him transforming his mansion into a wooden golem but he eventually meets his end at the hands of the surprise return of Yamato and MetalGarurumon. When it comes to the deaths, it's sad but I probably could tell you that I kinda saw it coming.
9/10: Great episode that puts an end to another Dark Master.
Episode 48: "My Sister's Keeper"/"Bombing Mission! Mugendramon"
Synopsis
Kari falls ill, and Tai becomes nearly hysterical in his attempts to help her, due to his past failure in keeping her safe after taking her out to play soccer while she was sick. Machinedramon attacks them in a mechanical city under his control, after tracking them through Koushiro's constant access of the City's map, and the group is separated, under ground.
Thoughts
This episode shows why Tai is protective over Kari, his younger sister, when she falls ill and during this, Machinedramon and his Metal Empire Army try to find them and kill them once and for all. I like seeing Tai being given focus when it comes to his relationship with Kari and seeing flashbacks as to why makes me feel for him. We now arrive out our third Dark Master, Machinedramon, and while he doesn't do a lot during this episode, he still has a commanding presence and when he does get involved and find the DigiDestined, he shoots them and causes the ground beneath them to collapse, separating them. The Metal Empire Army is awesome with all their machines and weaponry, probably my favorite out of all the armies we have seen as of now.
9/10: Great character focus episode that introduces one my favorite villains, Machinedramon.
Episode 49: "The Crest of Light"/"Farewell Numemon"
Synopsis
Kari recovers, and, along with Sora and Takeru, begins searching for the others. They run into WaruMonzaemon, and Kari, now glowing with light, frees the Numemon he has enslaved, who then begin calling her "Queen Kari". Andromon, who also realized Kari as "Queen Kari" soon battles with Machinedramon after meeting up with Tai and Izzy, and the Numemon sacrifice themselves to save Kari. Machinedramon is then defeated by WarGreymon.
Thoughts
This episode finally puts an end to our second to last Dark Master, Machinedramon, and his Metal Empire Army. Just as quickly as he appeared, he dies off in a cool way as a one stroke duel and gets into pieces. While I wish we saw more of him, I'm fine with this being the end of Machinedramon. I like this episode more charcter focus on Sora, Takeru, and Kari to kinda flesh them out more and give me some interactions I like. Now only one Dark Master remains, Piedmon and I wonder how he will be beaten.
8/10: Great Episode that has a great character focus but kinda wish we spent more time with the villain of these two episodes, Machinedramon.
Episode 50: "Joe's Battle"/"The Girls' Battle! LadyDevimon"
Synopsis
Joe goes off on his own to find Yamato, leaving Mimi with their reinforcements. Angewomon faces off against LadyDevimon, one of Piedmon's servants. After LadyDevimon's defeat, Piedmon begins to approach the group. Tai tells Sora and Takeru to go off to try and locate the missing DigiDestined while he stays behind to hold off Piedmon until they return.
Thoughts
This episode finally has the five of the DigiDestined arrive at the Dark Masters main base on top of Spiral Mountain but before they can go there, they are attacked by LadyDevimon, Piedmon's personal guard, and during this, we see Joe decide to find Yamato, and Mimi and some friendly Digimon trying to find other friendly Digimon. I like the moments with Joe and Mimi's group as we see what they have been doing during all of this and some moments like Joe deciding to leave the group find Yamato is nice. The other scenes with the five DigiDestined are fine as they start to plan something but once LadyDevimon as it is both a serious but has moments of comedy like the slap fight and the reactions of Kari and Sora. My favorite moments of this episoe would probably be seeing Tai use strategy, showing that he has grown as character since the beginning, and the last scene as Piedmon approaches three of the Digidestined, Tai, Kari, and Koushiro.
8/10: Great episode that begins the final stretch of episodes.
Episode 51: "The Crest of Friendship"/"Piemon, the Clown from Hell"
Synopsis
Piedmon and WarGreymon battle, although WarGreymon is no match for him. Yamato confronts his inner darkness, but breaks free with the help of Gabumon. Sora does as well, but breaks free with Yamato and Joe's help. All of the DigiDestined but Mimi eventually reunite. Both WarGreymon (now restored to full strength by the Crest of Friendship) and MetalGarurumon prepare to battle Piedmon.
Thoughts
This episode has Yamato return and reunite with the other DigiDestined after some reflection and during this, Tai is trying his best with WarGreymon to fight Piedmon but it seems they are not enough. My favorite scenes are the moments with Yamato shows what he has been doing and develops him as he starts to reflect about everything that has happened up until now. The fight against Piedmon is one-sided as despite gaining experience taking down others Megas/Ultimates, WarGreymon is getting horribly beaten. But the real fight will begin in the next episode.
9/10: Great Episode that serves as great development for some of the DigiDestined.
Episode 52: "Piedmon's Last Jest"/"Holy Swordsman, HolyAngemon"
Synopsis
Piedmon begins to turn the kids and Digimon into key chains. After nearly all allies are stopped, Takeru realizes the hope his brother Yamato has for him and finally gets his crest to glow, making Angemon Digivolve into MagnaAngemon. MagnaAngemon restores the DigiDestined to their rightful forms as Mimi arrives with the reinforcements. With the help of WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon, MagnaAngemon finally defeats Piedmon.
Thoughts
This episode gives Patamon's long awaited Ultimate/Perfect, MagnaAngemon and the defeat of the last Dark Master and their permanent end as Piedmon finally meets his end at the combined power of the DigiDestined. I'm gonna be honest, this a one hell of a way to have a villain being threatening and I enjoyed seeing Piedmon being scary and threatening as he hunts down the DigiDestined and turns them into dolls. Patamon's evolution into MagnaAngemon is good as it represents the growth of Takeru from a defenseless boy to someone who can protect himself. But this is not the end as we still have one more villain and I wonder who it is.
9/10: Great Episode that has a threatening villain and shows character growth for Takeru.
Episode 53: "Now Apocalymon"/"The Last Dark Digimon"
Synopsis
Although the Dark Masters are defeated, it is not enough to stop the complete destruction of the Digital World and the children and Digimon are forced to face the true mastermind of all the chaos: Apocalymon. The evil digimon destroys the Tags and Crests, before deleting the kids and Digimon. They realize that they have no need for the tags and crests, what they needed was inside all along, and the Digimon digivolve to their highest forms. They then return to confront Apocalymon again.
Thoughts
The penultimate episode and the introduction to our final villain of this show, Apocalymon and boy does he make an entrance as we get one of the most threatening villains I have ever seen as he uses the powers of the defeated Digimon the DigiDestined like Myotismon and the Dark Masters to easily beat the DigiDestined and deletes them. The scene in the world of information as the DigiDestined, realizing that they have power within in themselvers, and the multiple Digivolutions to strongest forms is one of my favorite scenes in this entire show. The final scene showing that the DigiDestined and their Digimon ready to fight Apocalymon, ready to save both of their worlds, goes hard. This episode also gives and shows us that there were previous DigiDestined but that's a story for another time.
12/10: An excellent penultimate episode that shows the growth the DigiDestined has gone through as they prepare to face their most intimidating villain yet.
Episode 54: "The Fate of Two Worlds"/"A New World"
Synopsis
After returning from their deleted state, the Digimon manage to defeat Apocalymon. He tries one last attack to destroy both worlds, but the power of the Digivices contains the blast. The DigiDestined are shown the beginning of the Digital World's rebirth, and prepare to spend the rest of their summer in the Digital World. However, Gennai informs them that although the timeline has been restored, there is only a small window of opportunity to leave and the children either have to leave now or remain in the Digital World forever. After saying their tearful good-byes to their partners, the kids depart for home.
Thoughts
We have finally reached the end of the line and frankly to be honest with you, this is my second favorite episode of the entire show and I can see why, it's a happy and sweet ending. The beginning with continuation of last time ends the fight against Apocalypmon with the DigiDestined using all they got to finally beat him and this is a great way to end the fight. After the Digital World is restored, we return to File Island and I like all the scenes here as we get to reminisce on some of the past adventures the DigiDestined had here like their first night here. But now we get to my favorite scenes and the one scene that makes me cry, the farewells to the DigiDestined's Digimon and the final goodbye scene as the DigiDestined leave in the trolley from episode 3 and their Digimon say goodbye as the theme song of the show, "Butter-Fly", plays in the background. I just love that scene.
14/10: A perfect to end a show like this.
Overall Thoughts
Now that I have finished the main show here are my overall thoughts on it.
Digimon Adventure is something I have not seen in awhile, good storytelling and good characters. Don't get me wrong because while I like the story and characters Power Rangers Wild Force and Kamen Rider Amazon, I just think Digimon had more fleshed out characters and a better story in comparison.
I like the story because while simple, works as we have a group of normal children just going through a world that is different from their own world with some small animals that can transform from a small lizard to an armored humanoid dragon with the power kill other dragons or a cat into an attractive angel woman, and I like seeing how weird the Digital World.
When it comes to arcs, the Devimon arc is a great way to begin a series and I enjoyed seeing the DigiDestined explore File Island and serves as an introduction to the basics of the Digital World like evolution and levels. The Etemon arc, while shorter than the rest, is a fun arc and probably my favorite arc when it comes to how fun its villain is and the character development and moments we get like Tai's reaction to SkullGreymon or Tai caring for Sora. The Myotismon Arc is the longest arc and the one that I felt that kinda dragged, while I do like its villain and its visuals, I feel like you could've shortened by removing some episodes that don't really add anything but that's probably just me watching these episodes consecutively, probably leading to me getting burnt out from this review. The Dark Masters arc is the final arc and serves as a great way to end this with the villains being more threatening than ever, a lot of character development like Yamato trying to find his way, and has a great final battle and a goodbye scene that I cry everytime it happens, but I think the biggest weakness of this arc is probably the villains not lasting long enough for me to care about them. Let's move on to the characters, mainly our heroes and villains.
Starting with the DigiDestined, Tai is probably my favorite of the DigiDestined and I can see why, he develops from being a stubborn but brave kid to someone more experienced, and I love him for all of that. Agumon is such a good and polite boy, just look at him.
I just like him and all of the fun he brings. Yamato is probably the most developed of the entire cast and I liked seeing him go from loner to a little more open to the others. Gabumon is another good boy and I like seeing his friendship with Yamato. Sora is like the mother of the group and likes the glue that holds the group, and I like seeing her development and enjoyed her a lot. Biyomon is fine, I have no real strong opinions on her. Koushiro is my second favorite of the DigiDestined and I can see, he is more logical and having a good friendship with Tentomon, speaking of which. Tentomon is my second favorite of the DigiDestined's Digimon as he has my favorite friendship with his partner, and has some of my favorite moments like him evolving into MegaKabuterimon to save Koushiro. Going from my second favorite DigiDestined to my least favorite, Mimi is fine but I think she was kinda of annoying during the early portions but I do love seeing her become less selfish in the later arcs. I like Palmon as she is nice, kind, has a good friendship with Mimi, and her voice shocklingly didn't get on my nerves. Joe is good character as I somewhat relate to him when it comes to school and struggling in priorities. Gomamon is good and I enjoy his friendship with Joe, but I kinda wish Zudomon got a better first appearence. Now we arrive at my third favorite character, Takeru is one of the two younger DigiDestined but does not stop him from having one of my developments as he goes from a shy little to a more mature. Patamon is just adorable, look at him with your eyes.
And he evolves into a cool angel because of his friendship with Takeru.
Now we arrive at the last DigiDestined and the younger sister of Tai, Kari is the one I'm shocked I enjoyed and I can see why because despite not having as much screentime, she helped the group with her gentle and kind personality, and had my bond between siblings with Tai that felt a bit sad. Gatomon is one of the better characters as she starts off as an antagonist in the Myotismon Arc but as the arc goes on we are revealed more about her and how she joined Myotismon, but gradually started to question Myotismon and eventually helped the DigiDestined take him down.
Now we arrive at the villains, and unlike the DigiDestined, I have more mixed opinions on them. Starting with Devimon, he serves as a good first major antagonist as he is somewhat simplistic in motives with wanting to spread darkness and wanting to kill the DigiDestined. Next up is Etemon, and boy does he leave an impression as he is more goofy yet threatening at the same time, making him my favorite, and his return as MetalEtemon was nice to see and seeing him fight Puppetmon was fun to see despite it being short. Now we have Myotismon and he's fine as a villain but kinda of generic. Despite being generic in comparison to the other villains, I still enjoyed how threatening his presence was and him as VenomMyotismon brought one of my favorite fights with WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon fighting him. Next up are the Dark Masters and I'm kinda mixed on them as I like two of them and neutral towards the other two. First up, MetalSeadramon and he is my least favorite as he doesn't have a lot going for him compared to the others as he kinda is lacking in personality compared to the others, but I did enjoy his fight against Wargreymon. Next up, Puppetmon and he is my favorite of all four of the Dark Masters and my second favorite villain of Adventure as he is both fun and threatening and enjoyed a lot of his scenes in his episodes. Now we arrive at Machinedramon and he is my second favorite of the Dark Masters as he shows how cruel he is and can backup his power with his intelligence as he matched Koushiro but my biggest issue with him is probably his lack of screentime. Now we get to Piedmon and he serves as good threat and has his moments of true teror like turning most of the Digidestined into dolls, but to me, he lacks screen time like most of the Dark Masters, but thankfully has a personality. Finally, we arrive at Apocalypmon and he serves as a great final boss, because he serves as the accumalation of what the Digidestined has faced, and while he only appears in the final two episodes, he still makes his presence known, and I love that about him as villain. Overall, I enjoyed and loved a lot of the villains in this show.
Ranking (Worst to Best): MetalSeadramon<<Machinedramon<Devimon<Myotismon<Piedmon<<Apocalymon<Puppetmon<Etemon
Conclusion/Rating
Overall, I love Digimon Adventure as this show genuinely makes me love the characters, and the world they live in. It quite literally surpassed the other two shows I've reviewed by so much that this the longest review I have done for a show as of now. I think I already gave a lot of my thoughts on this show.
Rating: 12/10, genuinely my favorite show of all time as of now.
So join when I finish this adventure in Our War Game!

Now it feels like we’re celebrating the 25th Anniversary 😍
This new art for an upcoming collaboration with Karatez is just simply stunning. The theme is (very obviously) “idol” and I personally love the futuristic pop concept they’ve added to the outfits. Although exact date and merch details haven’t been shared yet, they shared a few layouts of the key art.
The outfits are also great this time around because of their little references to the partner Digimon’s Perfect evolutions. Listing them down one by one as always.
Taichi: The blue markings on his jacket plus robotic arm markings on his right sleeve are a nice shoutout to MetalGreymon.
Yamato: We see WereGarurumon’s pattern on his jacket and a few belts wrapped around his hands that captures the punk-grunge vibe of WereGarurumon well. It may be Yamato’s affinity to music, but he looks extremely in his element in this art, it’s not often we see him so raring to go in official merch art (he’s more of a soft smiles guy usually).
Sora: Her gloves and the red bandana on her arm coupled with the feather in her hair are clear shoutouts to Garudamon. It’s kinda funny to me that being the girl who’s crest is a heart symbol, she’s making a victory sign while Mimi and Hikari are both making different types of finger hearts 😆
Koushiro: Honestly they were really subtle with the reference for him and even twitter couldn’t exactly answer my doubts so I’m gonna have to see Koushiro stans step up and answer whether the reference in his outfit limited to the markings on his jacket resembling AtlurKabuterimon’s chest?
Mimi: I think she’s the one with the most easy to catch references, her skirt resembles Lilymon’s and her hair tie looks like Lilymon’s flower canon. I love that she’s making the big finger heart because it’s just so very Mimi. If Yamato suits the passionate side of being an idol, Mimi is definitely meant for the cutesy visual vibe that can make fans go crazy over just a wink and a smile.
Jou: He’s wearing three belt like bracelets around one wrist like Zudomon which makes his a minimal reference though not as subtle as Koushiro’s. I do feel that they could’ve done a bit more with his look, maybe add a horn to the side of his headset? I also can’t wait to see the full art for each kid individually cuz I do think him and Yamato are wearing similar bellbottom pants!
Takeru: The feather on his headset and the yellow suspended straps are a decent reference to HolyAngemon. Considering that they wanted to keep the outfits limited to one colour per kid, I think this is the best way they could slip in the reference, though I wouldn’t have minded a few rings.
Hikari: The feather on the headset, the corset-ish belt around her waist and her gloves are very nice references to Angewomon. Keeping Hikari’s innocence as a kid intact while referencing a Digimon that is undoubtedly considered one of the most sexiest mons in the franchise would have been really tough and I salute the illustrators for coming up with this design! I also like the OG Korean finger heart she’s making, such a cute look on her.
The cherry on top are each of the Digimon partners holding supportive cheering goods for their kids. Piyomon’s love for Sora goes hard with her big name banner. Meanwhile, Agumon and Palmon kept it simple with haoris, Tailmon and Patamon too decided to go the simple route with light sticks. Gabumon, Gomamon and Tentomon seem normal from afar with their hand fans but when you get a closer look on all the hearts around Koushiro’s name on Tentomon’s fan, you know the three spent time making those themselves.
All in all, a pretty amazing illustration to be able to get merch of!
But wait that’s not all, andGallery has also teased a future cafe collaboration with Digimon Adventure on their twitter, more info will be announced on 19th Feb but they did share a preview of what to expect.

Character/Headcanon analysis: Koushirou Izumi and his parental tendencies
I like to call Koushirou "parental" when it comes to his 02 self - and I'm aware that may also be a very self-indulgent headcanon of him taking after Kae, even though she is more into soft parenting, whereas he himself is pretty occupied to make sure that his children are not blowing themselves up...
But of course you can also just call that him being a naturally supportive and caring person - always has been, ever since Adventure, even if certain events had to trigger him to not only be theoretically but physically helpful (such as whenever it comes to saving Mimi, Sora and Hikari - or telling Taichi to take it easy for once). The same attitude can also be found in Tentomon - though in his case, it's being protective on one hand and quite literally parental on the other (particularly in Tri).
Koushirou being thoroughly protective is the reason why I like to parallel him to Sora (and Hikari and basically Taichi too and thus Team Light validates me again), because them having self-sacrificial tendencies towards the others has ALWAYS been a thing - to various degrees. Again, Koushirou was ALWAYS taking on responsibility to make sure that others are safe (which is literally 90% of how his interactions with Hikari go, heck, Atlurkabuterimon trying to protect Angewomon is the biggest metaphor for that!). Unfortunately, my art did not become canon, but yes, I still maintain he was cut out of The Beginning (even as support) to give the spotlight to others for once. They still couldn't fully ignore him, hence why the "If Koushirou-san can't figure this out, how are we supposed to?" quote exists - the 02 kids have always relied on him and looked up to him, so it makes perfect sense. And Takeru acknowledged his support in his fanfiction as well! But they naturally didn't want him to get the spotlight, because it was about the 02 kids. 100% valid.
But then you also have the show vs. tell problem. Mimi says Koushirou is ignorant - and a lot of people take that at 100% face value. Taichi even defends him since he is pretty much aware of his quirks - and the scene above pretty much implies that Mimi herself knows how Koushirou is (= getting into hyperfocus mode and becoming ignorant towards everything he doesn't deem important in the process, hence being ignorant in urgent situations, but NOT in general). Stageplay!Kou is in a league of his own anyway, because he was allowed to voice his frustrations with "not being allowed to help by Taichi" again - and because he made everyone question how they really felt (like a good parent would always encourage their children). There are tons of examples, but to sum it all up: He is a connector, he is basically second in command, he is protective. His way of phrasing that may be awkward and not always understandable by others (hence why Yamato needs to explain it to Kae and Taichi to Meiko, IT'S A PATTERN), but...
Again, I just feel like 02 made him incredibly paternal in how he watches over the 02 kids, every time he talks to Iori, Miyako or Ken, he's kind and reassuring - yes, he does scold them and his potential suitors, ahem for being reckless, but also knows when to give praises.
(It also makes sense that he also mainly gets angry whenever he is being left out of things - especially if he knows he could have done something to support.)
We also all know that he has a very loving mother himself and, as mentioned, even if their parenting style might be rather different, he knows what is important, so... How can I not think it's because their relationship got better and he takes after her? Yes, Tri onwards didn't maintain the mom/dadness in him the same way, but he still feels responsible for everybody's safety, he gives advice and guidance all the time and that doesn't change.
#digimon#digimon adventure#koushiro izumi#izzy izumi#koushirou izumi#my two cents#meta#parental kou is one of my favourite kous#hence why i love 02!kou so much he is such an exhausted mom

Day 4: Trauma and Healing
Tell me Taichi wasn’t having a difficult time after Kizuna. TRY.
I bet you can’t.
I was preparing a comic! But I couldn’t get it done soon enough and I’m already late. SO! Either tomorrow or at the end of the week, I’ll post the finished comic!! But please take this thing from my drafts!!
Taichi’s grip on his shoulders grew tighter as Koushiro felt his back press into the offices couch.
After the week they just had, Taichi’s weight was just so comforting. Grounding him.
But the conversation that was to come was far from such.
And the way Taichi was going about starting it…
Because when the brunette leaned in and pressed his lips to Koushiro’s, he knew what this was about.
It didn’t take a genius to figure it out. Well, maybe it did. Koushiro did fit that description.
But this?
This took someone who knew Taichi.
Luckily he knew him like the back of his hand.
“Taichi—“
Taichi kissed him again, Koushiro engaging this time.
His hands went to hold the others hips, pulling him closer, hoping to maybe bring Taichi the same comfort he was bringing him.
It seemed to work. Sort of.
His shoulders were released at least.
Honestly, they really shouldn’t be making out in his office after hours.
However, when Taichi insisted on grabbing them some food and hanging out, Koushiro couldn’t bring himself to say no.
But he couldn’t afford to become distracted. They needed to have this conversation. He needed Taichi to be direct about his feelings; to tell him what was on his mind.
“Taichi-san you need to…T-Taichi, hold on, we need to—“
He expected Taichi to interrupt him again.
But he didn’t.
Instead, he rested his head on the crook of Koushiro's neck, and fisted the boys shirt.
“Do you know” his voice shook “How fucking worried I was?”
“I..can only imagine..”
“What if we didn’t beat that thing, Kou.”
Koushiro bowed his head.
“That wouldn’t have happened—“
“It almost did!”
“But it didn’t.”
Taichi let out a sharp sob.
He wasn’t going to cry. Of course not. He wasn’t going to, he told himself.
But now here he was, sobbing into his boyfriends shoulder about something that didn’t even happen.
Koushiro rubbed his hand up and down his lovers back. He couldn’t know how Taichi was feeling.
He could only guess. His guesses are usually spot on though, and this time was no different.
“Koushiro, if things didn’t work out..! I-I would have lost my sister, everyone’s digimon... I would have lost you—! A-And Yamato, I would never be able to look him in the eye again I— it was too much. J-Just too much, Koushiro and now that it’s over I—! I don’t know if I’m supposed to be relieved, or angry, or sad! I don’t know how I’m supposed to feel and it’s fucking me up.”
It was fucking both of them up.
Koushiro knew how to hide his emotions well. Always had.
But when Menoah turned out to be the perpetrator, he felt so stupid. So betrayed.
So used.
He hated feeling used.
Not only that, but the knowledge that someday, he might have to say goodbye to Tentomon…
But because of Taichi, he knew how to deal with his feelings.
Taichi was good at giving advice on such things.
But sometimes, he couldn’t follow his own.
“Taichi, you know the answer to that.”
“No! I-I—!”
Koushiro cupped the others cheeks and pulled him up until they were eye to eye.
He kissed Taichi sweetly before wiping the others face.
“Taichi-san,” he spoke gently. “You, more than anyone knows.”
“What..what do I know, koushiro…” his voice trembled, another sob waiting at the back of his throat.
“You don't have to feel a certain way. You don’t have to know how you feel.”
The red head pulled the other into a gentle embrace.
“You just…feel.”

Digimon Adventure Drama CD 3 (Character Song + Mini Drama 3)
The final part in this drama CD trilogy! There are other Digimon Adventure CDs for me to go through, but this is the end of the character song + mini drama collection. So great that these are easily accessible online. I've had a lot of fun going through them.
Download link
Translation
The Stolen First Dreams of the Year - Parts 1 & 2
The gang realizes that none of them had a New Year's dream (it's a Japanese tradition to analyze your first dream of the year). Yamato and Takeru go to investigate and Bakumon reveals he ate everyone's dreams! Dun dun dunnnn
Gotta love the totally realistic conversations of people being like "you didn't have a dream either, so weird!" I feel like I don't remember my dreams most nights lol.
I've always known that tapir were associated with dream-eating in Japan (due to anime and video games), but I've never looked up the origins of this. According to Wikipedia the nightmare eating, supernatural "baku" and the tapir are both called "baku," but they're different...but also baku look just like tapir lol. Not confusing at all!
In part 2 of this drama Yamato and Takeru are trapped in Takeru's dream. Takeru is a cat, Patamon's a kite, and Gabumon's a shishimai. I thought it was funny that Takeru had a profound reason for Patamon to be a kite, but Gabumon was a shishimai because...he just kinda looks like one lol
Takeru uses the power of lucid dreaming to defeat Bakumon and escape his dream...that's a pretty obvious weakness
Image Song 1 - Walk on the Edge (Yamato Ishida)
Translation
A very "cool" song for Yamato, very fitting. A lot of it is directed at Taichi, telling him to stop being so hot-headed and just be cool, like Yamato.
I feel like there's some conflicting vibes here because at one point in the lyrics he's like "we're the chosen children, we can do anything!" but then he's like "I'm fine on my own." Kinda jarring that both ends of his arc would be put into one song like that. Like...pick a personality.
I liked that they incorporated his harmonica in the song's intro. Smart.
Image Song 2 - Be All Right (Takeru Takaishi)
Translation
This had a similar vibe to Hikari's song, kinda abstract and hopeful about the future. (Makes sense since Hikari and Takeru become a duo).
I feel like Takeru's voice actress didn't even try to do her character's voice when singing this. It just sounds like some lady lol. In my opinion, when it comes to image songs, I prefer the song to sound more authentic to the character than to sound "good."
The Digimon’s New Year Performance
This was definitely the best gag drama yet! They threw a lot of dumb jokes in there that made me laugh/roll my eyes. Best bits were probably: Gabumon finally taking his fur off (in the AUDIO drama), Tentomon speaking without his accent (cursed), Sora and Joe praising Piyomon and Gomamon for their lame tricks and Hikari judging Tailmon for acting cutesy.
I felt bad for Agumon for being booed, glad he got his revenge at the end lol.
Image Song 3 - Shinka de Guts! (Partner digimon, minus Tailmon)
Translation
This one snuck up on me. It's so cute!! I feel like this is one of those anime songs that make you feel like you can do anything and everything's gonna be alright ;w;
Love hearing the digimon sing. This is what I was talking about in my critique of Takeru's song. I love in-character songs that aren't worried about sounding kinda goofy.
The digimon sing about their power together and their love for their human partners, very wholesome. There were also some lyrics thrown in there about taking it easy and stopping to smell the flowers. Cozy.
